They never promised to make it work on anything other than regular mobile devices and their decoders.. So there's that.

Seems okay so far on AFRd supported custom ATV ROM... Perhaps try the stripped root version from Suaji instead.

if u do not list what u want the box to be able to do, u will get all kinds of meaningless suggestions.

Do u know if ugreen usb ethernet adapter work with this device? Because the current ethernet adapter comes with this box looks sluggish

Dont know.. the ethernet adapter is only 100mbps.. some more connection is micro usb.. how about u buy the model and find out yourself.. LOL..

No, I didn't try the other 2 apks.. I just went with the third one based on your the differences you shared between them. I can try them and report back if you want.. Else, the third apk is still working okay till date. I haven't tested VOD though.. Just Live TV and so far, it's okay.. I once left it running on the box (box sleep and awake led lights the same, thought sleeping) forgot cuz my SO was watching Netflix for a couple hours. Once done with that and exited the TV app, then saw it was still running. So gooding.

Plenty... HiMedia, Minix boxes...Beelink though rooted.. Can run modded apk or the Beta version.. Take your pick..

I can think of ugoos am6 or am6pro.

These have root closing options, should work with astrogo.

But i hv not used, cannot b sure.

Other than that, u go with more costly boxes or outdated boxes or boxes that require modified apps.

But why u want midrange.... rather than low end or high end...? What other things u wanna do with it?

Honestly, that is the problem now... midrange fellas geting killed by mass low end while high cost ones survive on unique specialties required by some.

high end too expensive. low end like tx3 mini does not seem stable, right now I get a lot of crashes on the box, eg: "tv launcher isn't responding", astro go app will suddenly quit and brings me back to home screen, HBO go suddenly go black screen. sigh

I guess you need to track down the specific ROM version you are using and then cross check with others using the same hardware. Most likely is an unstable ROM version has been used, or some tweaking somebody tweaked has caused this.

Do not assume higher end or mid end will do a better job dor astrogo, hbogo.

These apps from astro are full of traps!

I cannot say for the rest but i can say tx3 s905x3 is very stable for astrogo.

Been using for a couple of months now, a few hours each time, all good.

Gotta agree with you regarding cost.. Buying the likes of the Nvidia Shield or Beelink's GT-King Pro JUST for AOTG is definitely overkill. Such devices require accompanying requirements and hardware to take proper advantage of them. Can you buy a Super Car and still drive it in traffic jams everyday? Of course, I rather be chilling in the back seats of a Rolls Royce in traffic than in a rickshaw. Basically, if it's within budget, do spring for the better stuff and enjoy a stable overkill.

But before that... Try a factory reset..double check if you are running the latest stable & compatible FW release.. That "TV launcher isn't responding message" is a big flag d.. Normally, manufacturers won't ship without a properly functioning stock launcher. or even if it's buggy, they'll shortly after push out a FW release to fix that.

i really have some problem with my X96 max, i don't know what happen with my tv box, i also don't know who play the tv box..
after i switch on the tv box, the UI is gone, and replaced with this, (photo attachment) i press back so many times but not working, i really don't know what to do.. any sifu can help or u want to check the unit, no problem i can send the unit to you, i from KL, u can PM me...

Boot to recovery and choose factory reset.

The reset button is usually in the AV port.

Remove power, find a toothpick ( non-metal ) poke into it, press hold, and insert back power. That will put you in recovery.

Usually IR won't work, you need an air mouse with dongle.

Finally i bought tx3 s905x3 to replace my useless mibox and able to run astro n hbo go

But seems like i can't view the subtitles even after turn on in astro n hbo go setting
Do you guys know how to enable the subs?
