Now I can confirm that if you need devices that can stream Netflix in HD@4K and Astrogo smoothly at the same time, these are the devices that you should be looking for:

1. Nvidia Shield 2017/2019
2. Amazon Fire TV Cube 2019 2nd generation

Just got my aftv cube yesterday.. straight away test AOTG.. and run like butter.. ordered from Amazon, use buyandship as forwarder. Total cost is RM398+54 (forwarder charge). Cube is now on sales for USD89.99. Normal price is USD119.99. U save around USD30 or roughly RM120. Really worth the money if u can't afford nvidia shield.

Both is similar, but TX3 S905X3 is better in terms of hardware and software.

yeah right.. throttle these devices.. i'm not sure how long u have been using astrogo but they never throttle the devices.. in fact, since astrogo version 8 is very simple.. ur device must not be rooted.. the rules stay until version 2.xxx.x the latest version.. both devices are not rooted from factory since both are google/amazon certified.. no hack to devices being done just straight away can use.. how do astro want to implement? google safety net check? even amazon fire tv cube does not have google play services.. LOL..

Mi Box was working just fine before Assteruk start being a d*ck and made HD channels jitter and unplayable on the box. Mind you this was made way before the recent major UI overhaul update (newer interface and navigation). So they highly probably made something within the app's codings to targeted devices. Since Nvidia Shield and Amazon devices are not officially sold in Malaysia, they probably "missed or ignore" those said devices, for now. Hence my use of word " throttle". If you have basic programming knowledge, you'll know this. This also happens for Disney+ app where users on supported country can install the app on Nvidia Shield devices but couldnt manage to do so on Mi Box, even when sideloading the APK.

Assteruk's main objective/plan now is to stop any TV boxes from running the mobile version of Astro Go. Since they decided to stop Astro services on any Smart TVs (LG's WebOS-running TVs can no longer run Astro GO app om their TVs as Assteruk already decommissioned the app on that OS a few months ago) in order to promote their newly-launched Astro Ultra Box. It's all business and capitalism at its absolute peak. Their devs could just do some extra alterations on the app's codings and boom...even a powerful device like Nvidia Shield can jitter and struggle running Astro GO.

Again, all I can say is good luck. There are eyes and ears all around this forum. You may think you're helping other users when instead you made Assteruk spies' work just a lot easier.

LOL.. really LOL.. then this thread " Any recommended android box for Astro Go?" shouldn't be here in the first place.. i am more afraid to discuss about illegal astro iptv such as mypadtv, haohd, myiptv4k then the legal astro go itself.. do u really think that they purposely stop astrogo playing on mibox s? on androidtv? is it facts or just assumptions? then why most of the non cert cheap china boxes can do astrogo? Isn't this discrimination? As for the playtv unifi, I only using the old version, as I cannot login to the new version on my phone.. it says that the account is not migrated.. who gives a damn.. i dont watch local channel news@programs, and i am not playtv@unifi subscriber.. but i assume that older version 7.8.8 and 7.8.9 might be working on the new cube, as it is working on my previous 1st gen cube as well..

there is some confusion about playtv@unifi apk.

1. the old original apk was at v7.9.8... works well on most devices, incl ATV os.
recently, a "new original" version came out, v7.9.11.
this "new" version is problematic for some ATV devices - the navigation goes dead.
this 7.9.11 works fine on regular android.
old version 7.9.8 is still working.
try updating to latest 7.9.11 to check if yr device will work.

2. unifi is launching a new STB.
with this, there is a new apk, v1.2.8.
new subscribers get new STB, to use new apk.
older users on some white boxes may have been migrated to this new version(s).
oldest ones using silver box have not been migrated, cannot use new apk.
at log in, u will get a message "u have not been migrated".
new STB, new apk probably come with new ID/PW too.

it will take some for unifi to fully migrate all users, old and new.
likely they will replace with new STB if new relevant contracts signed.

I moded myself that apk. U can try install urself if u want.

I made 3 version moded. Which is mean, got 3 different decode included bypass SafetyNet checking root.

All files run success streaming in Rooted devices (VMOS-Virtual Root) and i have no Rooted Box, Only MiBox3.

Make sure, ur box got google play. Bcos of the SafetyNet.
