For anyone who wanted to use Google camera app, you need to put this in build.prop (need to root to edit it)

persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1

But this will make 3rd party camera app unable to use manual control (shutter control etc) but you can still use it on stock camera apps.

While you edit that, better to put this as well to enable EIS (electronic image stabilization for video recording)

persist.camera.eis.enable=1

Had Redmi Note and Redmi Note 3. RN3 is my gaming phone while day to day use Nexus.

Don't have the problems which you mentioned when I was using both phones regularly. Photo quality not great but I usually tap to focus to make sure focus on right spot.

Yup even my bro is using RN3 doesn't give him a problem. I think is just redmi 3 cos 2 my colleagues facing same problems. So guys so far has yet to discover any problem on A1? Silky smooth ?

Very comprehensive review on XDA. Bottom line is worth getting based on its price range and features.

If I'm not mistaken, you cannot wake up the phone using voice command, you can unlock the phone using it though.

Errr... Meaning saying "OK Google" won't wake up the device from stand-by? I'm not sure what you mean by "can unlock the phone using "OK Google"...

I understand that while some ex MIUI users might not feel comfortable with this phone as it lacks many features in the REDMI series, please bear in mind this is only Android One and Xiaomi's first project with Google.

Next year there would be probably a Mi A2 and I strongly believed that more add ons will be in store but I also stressed that it should maintained as simple as possible.

I think the Mi A1 overall respond is good and also probably the cheapest for a pure stock Android smartphone.

If there are too many added features, it won't be stock Android anymore bye.gif bye.gif . The main attraction of the phone is the stock Android and it should be kept that way.

is it because of the band that maxis and celcom use?
from the xda review, they say that A1 is not really compatible with band 40 TDD-LTE.
so maybe maxis and celcom using the same band?

anybody here can help to confirm this problem? icon_rolleyes.gif

Things that the Mi A1 can improve.

1. Multi color notification. As all of us know that it has only one color which is white. For those who chooses the gold or pink variant, the front top white frame and the white led notification color cannot be a perfect match.

2. Reading mode. I missed that yellow dim romantic light. I heard it can be adjust to grey........

3. Torch light. SOS light perhaps?

4. Dual apps in the future?

5. Battery life. 4000mAh in the future please?

6. Quick charge adapter instead of 5A. Type C is fine but QC would be better.

7. Soft vibration. I think the vibration should be more intense.

8. Slow finger print. Nougat problem?

I never heard any Mi A1 user in here complaint about the GPS lock in. GPS must be damn good leh? brows.gif
