Silly question but i appreciate if anyone could confirm this.

This phone works with 3rd party launcher e.g. Nova doesn't it? I know it's already stock Android but I'm accustomed to Nova Launcher's gestures.

Thanks in advance

Just received my A1 yesterday. Here's my thoughts over a little of 24 hours of using the phone. Previously using a Honor 6.

-Build quality is generally solid. Design wise it does look like an iP7+ copycat but i don't really care/mind too much lol. Coming from a phone w/o a FP reader, i'm impressed with how quick the one on the A1 is. If i were to nitpick, the vol and power buttons does wiggle very slightly

-Display is good, nothing to complain. Gets bright enough for outdoor

-Performance is good. No major hiccups. Played some Asphalt 8 just to test.

-Stock Android is a breath of fresh air over the mess that is EMUI. Some improvements can be made though, e.g no control over the behavior of the navigation bar. App kiling is also not as agressive as EMUI.

-Can't gauge battery life cos I;m using the phone 100% wifi without a SIM yet. Now at 59% with 3h20m of SOT

-Camera is definitely IMO the weakest link, it is on par for the price but don't come expecting much more

Overall, for RM1099 i think its a decent buy, for RM919 i think should definitely consider . I paid RM949 for mine.

overall is it a good buy and worth the money?
I'm currently using Honor 6 as well. Battery started to swell up that even the back plastic is coming out from the frame. lol
I'm currently aiming for A1 too..  hmm.gif
just reading for more reviews while waiting for Huawei Nova 2I ( 4 cameras )  rclxub.gif

For me personally it was worth it. I had the rear panel popped up too, really uncomfortable to use because of the edges.

I kinda wish it was OxygenOS type of stock Android. On this phone even you if enable the battery percentage it's really hard to see at a glance so I just use an app called Energy Bar. Still, not a dealbreaker for me cause I much prefer the flat design of stock android tongue.gif

Battery should last much longer eventhough similar 3k+ mAh size, cos of the more efficient Snap625

Cant really review on camera cos I'm not big on photography sweat.gif but took a quick pic of my house this morning in bright light and i thought it looked really nice (w/ HDR)

Overall, im satisfied and no buyers remorse lol

How do you enable the battery percentage? I spent entire night yesterday to find that feature but to no avail.

You have to enable System UI tuner first. To do this, pull down the notification bar/quick settings, long press the settings icon (top right) and enable it. From there you change the settings in the status bar etc

Btw i dont have any screen protector installed too but looking for a case. Apparently xiaomi made an official case for the A1 which looks nice. Hopefully someone bring in tongue.gif

Read the article. It was confirmed working on LG G6 and V20, both with dual camera.

Mi A1 doesn't have Camera2 api does it? I've checked with Manual Camera compatibility app and it says this phone has no support for Camera2 confused.gif

For the duplicating contacts, in the Contacts, click the button on the top right -> contacts to display -> choose your Google contacts only

This strangely only works in the Contacts app but not the Phone app though. At least it's a temporary fix

Does no else experience the headphone jack noise/static?

It's starting to get annoying now. Plenty online have the same issues so can't be my headphone

When did the sound occurred? I regularly listen to Spotify but there's no unusual sound I heard from my headphone.

Whenever I plug in my earphone. I use Spotify too and this persists systemwide

Does it bother you and do you consider it a defect?

Guys, any of your A1 has this app called "Caping"?
Its not in the app drawer.
Only can be found in Setting > Apps.
Any idea what is it?
I've read on some forum that this app is "accidentally intalled" by Xiaomi in a script in new updates :/
seems like its an app from an Indenesian company. Its a new portal app
*
I too had this app installed out of nowhere. Appears on the drawer tho. Just uninstall like any other app and you should be fine
