RT-AX88U only a few people can afford. Even if you buy from Taobao the cheapest is RM1600++

But changed all the setting.
Even wireless region I had change to Asia too.

As majority also recommended AC86U.

No, already global firmware installed.
Just change the setting accordingly.
ASUS using global firmware which already have Unifi ISP setting. (unlike other brand router different firmware region)

Less heat? My AC86U recorded 91 degree, and after installed additional fan managed to hover around 71 degree.

Your AC86U is special case. Normally, AC86U does cooler than AC68U.

Not sure about AX88U yet. Going to install Merlin firmware to find out...

ac86u purchased from taobao can't register warranty on Asus malaysia website correct ?

Yes, not covered official ASUS Malaysia warranty.
But did cover ASUS China warranty, any claims needed can send back to China.
Just give and take case, if you felt trouble, then goes to Malaysia unit which more than 2x of the price

Think twice before getting China version. AC86U does have more hardware problem compare to AC68U. Totally depending on your luck.

Anybody got issue with 5Ghz suddenly not working? My unit was bought from Taobao and out of sudden that 5Ghz is not working anymore.

Any idea how to claim warranty for this? Just bought less than a year

how was your unit mate? mine was the same thing happened to me today which the 5Ghz is keep prompting incorrect password and can't connect it at all

The unit died and I exchanged for RMA from my seller. Right now it's working fine but I bought a fan for it just in case

Where do you bought your router ya if you don't mind me asking?

Look up MyComputerHome on shopee and Lazada. Bought one for rm999. China unit though but he provides 3years warranty too
