hi guys thanks for the suggestions as i use my setup mostly for PC i don't think a projector is all that suited... we shall see am targeting a a 50" LCD 9 probably by next chinese new year if prices become reasonable...those new 21:9 ratio screens also look an interesting proposition... might try some fancy cushions/padding behind to try liven things up... P.S Just out of curiosity..on the topic of projectors...how much screen size could i get with a sitting distance of 10 feet? This post has been edited by yonggoh: Jul 5 2009, 09:25 PM

Abt 80" at a distance of 10'. That also depends on which projector that you are aiming since each model has different throw ratio.

I think he uses the Sony as Surround speaker and that huge speaker for Karaoke vocals....
My dads house also same...HT is HT, but he has a separate huge speaker for karaoke sessions with friends.

Just managed to stick the acoustic panels at 1st reflection point in my room. Each side measuring 1m x 1m. Next week would be the back wall treatment.

The 3M Command Strips really stick the foam well to the wall. Has been 3 days and no sign it will drop unlike using double sided tape. Only use 3 at the top and 1 at bottom. Good stuff. Hope it will hold indefinitely

Your speaker possition was wrong, your rear speaker should put at rear side of your sitting place.

Not much you can do. Just enjoy happily that the system you have. If you still not sastify, upgrade to better TV, AMP, speakers will definately give you more quality on sound and picture

*photos are being borrowed from s6xs9x's posting. RM120 per pair (500mm x 1000mm). I have used 5 pairs now. Will stick a pair at the top of the back wall over the weekend.

What is the density of the foam? Compare to semi rigid glasswood board with 98 kg/m3. Which one has better sound absorption?

To all sifus,
this might not be the right thread to ask but i do not want to start the new one. Regarding the Acoustic panel, is it only available for DIY ? Do you all think it's better to have professional install it for the whole room ? will it be too expensive and not worth it ?
I'm moving to a new home and wife has gracefully grant me 1 one room for HT.. and i'm wondering the what should i do first during the renovation period...
Thanks.
