yeah, they are not aligned with the screen indeed, that's the best i can do with the limited space.

wish i can do better with the wires at the back of the cabinet.....have to keep the back opened for ventilation. and no matter how i organize the cables..its still like vine jungle....

dude, nothing to envy about......

have to say i am proud that i did the installation myself....the brackets have been a big pain in the butt. those are concrete slab walls....not bricks.....it is much harder to drill. i actually broke one of the bolt in the wall......that was a hair-pulling experience.

getting the stuffs aligned and level was pain in the butt also. end up with other gadgets just to do all these.

check the sketch i did...hehehe....it is to scale....the thing hanging from the top were actually 2 hanging lights which i have since replaced with something shorter. this was done to make sure the position i wanted for the projector and the screen would line up

why cannot? i was more keen on the vogel, because i can mount the projector right way up...and the vogel looks better.....

yes, i saw your tvix thread.....have to wait for the thing to deliver first. and probably a few hair pulling experience while setting up before i can say anything.

nothing elite about this....the true elite would be like those you see in avsforum...those basement, in wall..bla bla setup...

oh, maybe i should take a picture of the TV's bracket. its actually on a swivel arm...hehehe...not that much use in terms of watching the thing, but it is sure useful when i need to access the back of the cabinet...like indiana jones go whacking in the vine jungle.

anyone interested in the screenshots of the pj? how to best capture the image?

thanks for the compliment. its not a dedicated theater, its the living room......dont have spare room in my tiny pad.

the PS2 is gathering dust, not the PS3...though its not often used also.

i've heard that ppl wants 60GB PS3 and willing to pay crazy money for it.

i purchased this abroad...

SMS has close cooperation with Draper, maybe check the Draper supplier?

this SMS bracket also has the ceiling version. the unislide (the part with the 4 arms) is purchased separately.

check out this one..this EPW6565 is cheaper than SMS
www.vogels.com/pages/consumer/products/placement.aspx?classification=84

prices for these are abt 160euro for the vogel, about 200euro for the SMS

yeah those 1:1 screens are meant for multimedia presentation. those hifi stores would definitely have these retractable screens. if your 8'x8' is a fixed screen...there's no way any car can fit...unless you have a pickup truck or a van. my draper just fit into my car...

indeed, my cheap draper already showing the V-wave. wrapping is common with retractable screen. but i have no choice...no spare room to use and i still need the TV in the same room. its warranted against wrapping....so i am bringing it back one of these days....after the warranty expire...i am not sure what's the next course of action.

hi hi, I just come back from Watts... I'm buying 3 spikes for my sub woofer for rm25/each (including the base of the spikes)... for the projector wall screen that I'm looking for, I think I'll get from them after Hari Raya or may be end of next month... as they can arrange the lorry to directly delivered the wall screen to my house instead of I carry it back with my small car... they also didn't keep stock for wall screen due to space concern and need to order with them if I really want... they also sale Optoma projector there, and they recomend me to use normal white projector screen instead of gray projector screen... actually, white projector screen and white projector screen what's the different in performance???
*
white projector screen and white projector screen would be the same..hehe tongue.gif

but grey screen gives better black. and usually lower gain and you might need a brighter projector to go with it.

any reason why you're deciding on the 1:1 (square) screen? and what sort of screen is it? fixed? manual/motorized roll?

if you're using the screen more for movies and games, i guess there will be plenty of unused area in the 8'x8' screen.

yes, fixed screen if its possible.....msian hot and humid climate is not very kind to rolling screens.

my colleague did a drawing for his DIY fixed screen....its basically 2 frames like picture/painting frames which is used to sandwich and tension the fabric in btwn the frames...much like a frame-in-frame setup. that way, its very light-weight and you get a nice black border on the outside......then again...probably less headache to yourself to get pro help from the framing guys.
