@s6xs9x

so now, 1.5 feet from the wall is the sweetest spot for your rf52. what was the distance before using the foam? did u try filling up the speakers' cabinet? I'm not sure the correct term used for this process. is it 'baffle loading'?

I also live in flat so space is premium. my living/dining hall is approx. 15'x15'. what do u think of klipsch manuals?

@arremie
what abt ur rf52 distance? Your super floating RC52 stance is truly an eye opener.. notworthy.gif

I came across a shop in Ipoh today selling the egg crate type of foam. It comes as a large piece about 3.5' x 6'. Price was RM43.

Being one piece, means you have to cut it yourself if you want smaller sizes.

One thing I noticed is also the ends (presumably where they cut one piece from another) are very ragged. So again have to DIY to trim it. Anyone got any ideas for best way to trim foam neatly?

Aiyo the quality looks so bad. No wonder cheap cheap only tongue.gif

Best way to cut is to use hot wire. Wear mask. The burning fumes is really bad.

Yeah, the finishing on the edge is a concern. But if can DIY cut neatly then save a lot.

Ben, are you running 'presence' speakers with your Yamaha? The Jamo looks sleek. Using 2 subs? As the front of your room looks bare, no issue with room acoustic?

Anyway, very nice and tidy setup. I like the black strip idea.

Why people want to run presence? Is it better than surround. I have enuf speakers to try but no cable doh.gif
So currently I just run 6.1 (single back channel). Nothing impressive la but the surround now sounded fuller compared to 5.1 setup but need to run movies with DDex or DTSes to make use the back channel. If movies with only 5.1 sound, no sound coming from back channel rolleyes.gif

Anyway, nice setup bro thumbup.gif

when u run presence speaker, u will know the sound....more front effect and vocal will be more centerlize if u put ur center speaker below tv.

ben, in-wall wiring is neat. There's a lot of bare walls and floors bouncing your sound around.

Do you find the black strip behind your TV distracting?
