Already confirm with the retailer mine got the remote... only they forget to replace the dummy with real one when they hand it over to me.
I also forget about the remote while in their shop. doh.gif Maybe because blind by the goodies that i got. Tmrow after work will take it. rolleyes.gif

Just activate your recovery partition or boot from HP recovery discs if you had it burnt some time ago.

Thanks catsper. So if i wanna upgrade to media center 2005, i just reactivate from my 3 HP reecovery discs to reformat, then update all hp stuff before installing windows right?

Isn't your 6126tx preinstalled with Media Center, is it? The recovery discs have all the necessary stuff and together with preinstalled windows. No need to reformat and reinstall windows.

After all, the notebook will revert back to factory-state after you do recovery.

Mine came with media center 2002 (honestly i don't know much about the difference btw 2002 & 2005), that's why i'm thinking of reformatting it before upgrading. if that is the case i suppose recovering it (thus resetting to factory) before upgrading is the correct thing to do?

Hi, I recently bought a DV6000. I was wondering why it cannot record nor read using a dvd-rw. It even ejected a dvdr only recorded previously in WinXP !! But funny things is, dvd movies or cdr/cdrw can play without problems. Is it possible that Vista basic prevent it from reading ??

it can't be becoz of that. its either your dvd media is scracth/low quality or your lappy dvd drive is beginning to fail.
