yeah pretty GOOD!!! brand new experience. Imagine the first day when u reach the island, dont even know how to swim properly(atleast me la haha) but by end of day 2 u can go under 15m of water and swim..... well that experience is hard to say in word lol

the dive center i take my OW with is call Udive @ Paya Tioman. i pick them coz i feel like they are quite friendly when i visit their booth last year and is the only one dare to say u dont need to know how to swim to dive, as im not good at swimming then the rest of the dive center say i need to somewhat know how to swim first.

How is it like to change BCD on top of water while you are not good at swimming?

Personally I think that's the hardest part for people who don't know how to swim or stay on top of water.

well normal swimming pool is without fin so is harder to water tread. in ocean to me is easier with fin, kick abit u can stay on water for awhile ady.

the first few thing the instructor ask me are, do i know how to swim and am i scare of water?
so first thing she teach me is some basic swim skill like how to tread water then swim abit and she say ok good to go then proceed to gear up for dive

well ofc not gonna lie there are still some challenging part like clear mask half/full and completely take off the mask and wear it with eye open shakehead.gif
like i say, idk how to swim then dont even talk about open eye underwater la haha doh.gif

haha as i just got my ow not long ago i saw some of the DM just wear tshit and short pant and gear ady when into dive
i tot must wear wetsuit or is just up to you?
Wear whatever you like as long as it keeps you adequately warm and protected for the dive you're doing... whether it's a wetsuit.. drysuit.. even a birthday suit.. rclxm9.gif

i see but during my days at the dive center i hardly see my instructor or dm or those come for fun dive do dive log(maybe they do it at room idk la)
Well when someone's working on the island... day in day out for months bringing guests to more or less the same sites... I can see why they don't bother.

QUOTE(1qaz1qaz @ May 4 2018, 04:20 PM)
as my instructor teach us to do using log book is there anyother form of log?
I log into a spreadsheet. You can do anything you like really.. it's your log. Write a song, paint a picture, or just use your dive computer as a log.

btw do you guys do dive log book?
or any record for the dive u did?
*
I just started re-logging after so many dives. I find that you'll never know when you need the information. From monitoring your progress, having info in case you'll return in the future, improving buoyancy and trim, or just plain revisiting good memories, it's best to have it recorded. No log = no dive made. Also, many further courses may require proof of experience by logged dives.

Hi sifu, may I know whats the famous brand/important criteria when buying a rash guard?

And any typical price range?
*
Can try lavacore. I saw they selling 340 only. Quite cheap but test it first before buying.

Im pretty new to diving.. totally no experience... what will be you advice regarding everything on island and pool/island version ? Any suggestion of nice island as well in the months of ard july ?
*
Depends on your learning capabilities. Easier to settle knowledge and learn the required skills in Pool than do it again in Open Water. For island I would say all lebih kurang only. You are learning to dive, wont get to see much as they will pick sandy bottom.

I bought mine from lazxda...RM100 mares..didn't check any UV thing, as long as physical protection from sunlight is sufficient for me. I usually only wear rashguard + beach short to diving

I just did my OW earlier in April too.

Wetsuit is to help of it gets cold I think. I wore t-shirt and baselayer shorts. But that is because they dont have wetsuit in my size.

yes i mean that, the turning on 1st stage  rclxms.gif
wow, those softer hoses need to change for every 2month? no matter use or no use? does it expensive?
i mean this type of hose

if request for din tank, normally will it be any extra cost for that? confused.gif

I have been using Scubapro one with the turning on 1st stage as you are looking for. I have also used rental regulators and other random friends regulators who don't mind me using their regs. And honestly, I don't find any differences. My hoses are pretty short too.

From what I understand, the softer hose doesn't last as long as rubber hose.

I like Ripcurl ones. Basically the only important criteria is that you look good in it.

Unless you are looking for something more than a rash guard, like sharkskin kinda top where it's windproof and blah blah blah. Rashguard doesn't really do anything other than prevent you from being sting by whatever under the sea (doesn't protect you from triggerfishes either) and making you look good.

hmm 900MYR means its cheaper than getting in japan for me although made to order is more common there, but i guess it would suck because i have a small body so i doubt they will have the smallest size.... sad.gif

i see...i only try once with the turning 1st stage, just that moment feeling no pulling effect, never had the chance to try again...
thats why need survey around before get the regulator as is going to use for quite a long period, and dont regret on wrong model

rubber hose can last for how many years?
