Apparently same for x70 facelifted recently. Cut cost for radar and use camera based only. Mazda also similar, camera based only then heard few comments if heavy rain that system become not functioning properly
*
Mazda still camera + radar. At least what I noticed on Mazda 3, CX30, CX5 and CX8

Heavy rain no matter camera only or camera + radar most system would stop working. They rely on each other. I wouldn't trust these systems in bad weather conditions anyway, rather trust my own eyes

I didn’t notice it for a while but eventually after 6-8 months I saw the rubber crinkle and like potentially can have water leak into the door.

It cost around rm100 to replace at SC.
I don’t have the face to claim as the tinted shop is my father’s friend and this is already a few many months after the installation. Besides he was in Ipoh, I am in Penang most of the time. I’m pretty sure he would be saying not his fault.
*
Since he is your friend you should lagi alert him that his work voided your car warranty, so he is aware.
Claim from him or not the 100 is really no matter.

I'm pretty sure the its the Honda part run channel part defect instead of his workmanship, because i did not notice it immediately after install the tinted. What's there to alert? Call him up and he will just pat my back.

The last ever Honda used RADAR is on CRV G5. Then Honda cut cost and uses front camera + front parking sensor only.
*
Do you have a credible source? According to the MY CRV G6 manual, the radar sensor is behind the H emblem.

Manuals can be downloaded from https://www.honda.com.my/manuals.

It should be most likely defect if wrinkle aka wrapped. Tint usually don't do that unless from the beginning after he install back, already start wrapping.

But the moment you touch the area, Honda will void, windows motor also void.

Surprisingly many ppl will still argue Honda should not or will not void warranty coz logic says it most likely be material defect, nothing to do with tint but the moment we broke the 3rd party installation warranty terms, Honda did void. Happened so many times liao.

Old Honda from decades ago with will close one eyes in many case, the warranty claim is not that stringent but the new one with stringent claims AUDITING with so many claims until takut liao, will void when they have the chance to avoid adding to their cost even if they know its their part causing issue, who ask buyers to go install 3rd party tint. If everyone do that, who is going to install their sub-par but high price official tints. sweat.gif whistling.gif

That is my 2 cents only.

I wholly agree with your post here, chalk it up to my lack of knowledge of these intricacies and also the pro-vendor laws in malaysia. Like you advocate here, buyer beware, and thus my next car I just obediently use the "panel" company of installer for any tinted and wiring etc.
Too little legal protection is given to buyers / consumers, so vendors take full advantage to void whatever liability they can, to achieve maximum profit. On top of that, they also go for minimum viable quality of their products.

Malaysia really needs more pro-consumer laws to compel the manufacturer, dealer and seller to be more responsible because we are a low income people and cannot afford to litigate, cannot afford to pay extra for repair, and the vehicle itself is actually a very high proportion of our income thus we have a need for them to last significantly well into the warranty period.

In the past, Honda under Boon Siew was indeed different. You get an elevated sense of ownership compared to the pasar malam feeling these days. But, I was young back then, maybe my dad would know better. It doesn't mean everything was rosy for owners, I recall issues where we were left in the lurch too.

Anyway, like my case, install through the dealer AND their buddy panel = ok, install directly to the buddy panel = not ok. Sounds bad, smells bad and it isn't the rubbish in the dustbin.

I still installed 3rd party tint coz the tints make a huge difference in car comfort as I have to be in for at least 2-3 hours everyday. Maximum conform with best heat resistant tint. So I prepare to face voiding the any related warranties to it (if it comes to that). Buyers must know this and prepare if there is any issues and keep finger crossed on that.

Now....on dashcam hardwire, it touches on fuse and wiring that can even affect car systems, I don't dare nor able to handle the warranty void risk as the damage done are truly unknown. Not that I hear of any cases of warranty void using 3rd party hardwire dashcam. I just cannot handle the warranty void risk for all electrical wiring and its related equipment if it ever comes to that.

I'm gonna be honest, my own take is somewhat different.
Tinted - there are plenty of those with pretty good performance you can choose from their internal list. Heck, almost every single major brand has a panel list, it is just add protection money on top of your bill to the dealer. Keeps your warranty alive nonetheless, and you are still cool. No need to pray to random god and keep finger crossed.
Dashcam hardwire - don't hardwire lo, my car is just one of the same 99% of the rest of the cars. I just plug into my ciggy lighter. If you really need, might as well plug into an external powerbank. Warranty alive!

While some smaller brands have multiple official partners. Honda has only 1, ecotint ecobarrier with 2-4 ranges that IMO only is at the lower mid end of tint ranges.

The other panels that some dealers mentioned are their own local panel, not valid for Honda official list thus can only claim warranty at that particular dealer's SC, I guess they will skip reporting their local tint installation (just my guess). Go to other SC, those panels SC (non Ecotint Ecobarrier) will still be treated as 3rd party installation.

I also try to install my preferred tint (also a panel) of local dealer but earlier I already negotiated the price with the panel (before i know they also is panel of the local dealer). So the price quoted by dealer is at least 40% more expensive than the price I got earlier....Tak boleh telan that pricing difference coz I choose the highest premium range earlier).

I don't prefer having the CIG plug plugin at all times, so I still prefer hidden fuse-based dashcam. I always use the Cig plug for tyre pump periodically to re-fill tyres. So prefer to keep the 12V plug free.

Hey RS owners, any of you can confirm if you're facing the same issue?

1. aircond leak (probably for Turbo owners too?)
2. When on EV mode, do you hear a soft beep when accelerating? (Need to go on a non busy road to hear this)
3. When pressing the brake, do you hear a click?

I'll be going to the service centre to check soon, but just wanna know if you're facing this too.

1. Yes, after parking the car there'll always be some condensation dripping from under the car. Is that what you noticed too?
2. Don't really notice, but what kind of beep do you think that is? Is it when it switches from EV mode to hybrid mode where the engine kicks in?
3. Not really, but there may be some interlocking mechanism that switches between regen braking and mechanical braking that may introduce some soft sound/click.

FYI: Here's an excerpt from page 14 of the manual which explains there may be sounds unique to the e:HEV models that may startle someone new to hybrid vehicles:

What aircond leak are you referring to? Liquid under the car when stationary?
Do a scent and touch test, if it is clear and scentless it is just condensation.

Gas leak you need to check the pressure with a gauge.

1. aircond leak inside or outside car? if u refer to the aircond water in cabin then its related to the waterflow hose. if outside then normal
2. mine no beep. just the annoying humming sound
3. i only hear the click during ACC, which is normal. if normal driving mode no click sound.

Even with radar, heavy rain condition I’ve suffer misguided LKAS trying to sense the road white lines and trying to counter steer my steering wheel.
