wanna ask, does sales tax applies to all stuff that are brought into Malaysia?

I ordered an amplifier from overseas, and i notice the tax rate is 15%. Do i need to prepare for sales tax as well? If so, how much will it be?

NO. Not all imported goods are subjected to sales tax.
Amplifier's tariff code is: 8518 40 000, 15% import duty and 10% sales tax.

That I'm not sure, probably custom might ask you to declare under military items
Depending on the materials, if it is made of textiles it could be 20% import duty and 10% sales tax. Good luck

Put some dust on it, take out from packaging, declare as used personal household item. Then no duty & tax. But they might say need Sirim approval

edit: the parcel description is: "video converter (VGA)" but in bulk(10 boxes). how much will be charge?

member aku kat rusia dah declare custom ,pakai Kastam Deklarations CN22 forms dia letak "gift" value mahal2 tapi aku suh dia letak USD5 jer

its should be no problem if my fren at Russia already declared the items rite?

VGA converter... so it receive television signal or transmit to TV? Dutiable...

CN22... Russia's C2 form for export?
Good luck on your shipments coz Port Kelang Custom currently has lots of operations going on. Read newspaper recently you'll see lots of cases involving custom. But your gas mask mah... small small case only lah. If got hold up, usually is custom wanna "cari makan".

Kastam's website only show import duty 1st, then on the right hand panel, you need to select the "sales tax" to check whether sales tax is applicable to the item you're importing.

As for your VGA box, there's a high chance custom may slap a pretty high duty on it. Well, you can always hope.

My case is IMPORTED Trading Cards in BULK. They hold my parcel.
I pay a few hundred for letting my parcels go.

Actually I had been successfully imported another batch of cards. ALmost depends on luck cos i saw the box also stamped "DITAHAN oleh KASTAM" but it still reach my house.

If you are lucky and the stuff is unknown for the kastam officers they will just let it go... or lucky?
