Hey guys,

For the past I bought sandals (Rm300) and some cases (Rm100+) from ebay uk and luckily I didnt get tahan by kastam or anything, and at that time I wasnt even thinking about getting tahan by the kastam or get taxed. I also bought some clothes cost about 1k+ from ebay and the item receive at my doorstep nicely. I think I just being lucky.

But after reading all of your comments, I get quit scared and I'm about to buy some watch from amazon us costs about Rm1400+.

So any of u had any experienced regarding buying watch from amazon us and get taxed ? And any explanation how our tax and kastam stuff works ?

Hi everyone,

I am thinking of getting a friend in the USA buy me an electric sewing machine and send it to me here in Malaysia via UPS (since obviously sewing machines in the States are way cheaper than in Malaysia). The sewing machine would cost about US$150.

Does anyone know if this is taxable at all?

Thanks!

PS: Would buying a refurbished set making any difference at all?

If the goods are not in a container then it should be no problem.
If using postage such as DHL or FedEx are costly but will surely end up infront of your doorstep..

Got a white letter to pick up my items from KLIA, it's collector toys and priced at 250$ usd, do you think, i need to pay taxes? Or would they just let it go ? Because alot of the charge is the shipping. 100$ usd for shipping.

yes, tax incurred includes the items's price together with the shipping fees.

Hi, sorry if you get this question a lot. If I were to import clothes (tshirts) from the US that costs more than RM500, how much is the tax? Sales tax? Import tax? Are the tax based on item + shipping? Or total cost? Thanks in advance.

I'm getting this message from the POS Malaysia tracking service:
Item held by custom for inspection.
Importation restricted - item not delivered
Does that mean that my item is held temporary for inspection or it's already been detained due to importation restriction?

I'm staying in Japan right now and my friend ordered a helmet since there are a bunch of choices of helmet here & cheaper than Malaysia too.

So, if i buy a helmet for him and post to him (in Malaysia) using EMS.

Will the item arrived safely infront his doorstep? Will he has to pay any tax or whatsoever?

Anyone has experienced buying a helmet from overseas? Need help here
