Depending on the bonus/free item, if it's just a sample size/travel size, not full sized product, shud be tax free.

Got a white letter to pick up my items from KLIA, it's collector toys and priced at 250$ usd, do you think, i need to pay taxes? Or would they just let it go ? Because alot of the charge is the shipping. 100$ usd for shipping.
*
yes, tax incurred includes the items's price together with the shipping fees.

Hi ,

Im thinking of ordering the following item from USA ,
http://www.astrogaming.com/a50-wireless-system
Im going to use comgateway as my 3rd party shipping handler and they are using fedx or DHL to send it to Malaysia .
My question is , will the Malaysia Customs detain and tax my item since its 300 USD ? if so how much will the tax be ? Please help .

Thank you
*
They are becoming quite strict lately, so there are high chances that you might get taxed.

if you have the invoice that states the mp3 value/total amount of mp3, u should show it to them.

Alright, but will the package just be sent to me once everything is determined to be okay, or will I have to do anything else?
*
Assuming
1. custom clearance is smooth
2. ur package doesn't go MIA somewhere,

you just need to wait for your package to be delivered to your doorstep.

I need some help/advice. I ordered some t-shirts from Threadless back in June and i've yet to receive my parcel. The delivery that they used is DHL International Standard and apparently no tracking number is provided for this type of delivery.

Anyone know to whom I should ask to enquire about the status of my delivery? I assume that the parcel has arrived in malaysia but for some reason it's not reaching me. Can someone help me? It's my first time ordering stuff from overseas. sad.gif
*
June is a bit too long for international transit from US to MY (assuming the parcel is posted out from US).
It might be a bit late, but there's no harm trying to call DHL up to ask about the status.

Yes, I've thought about calling them before; real life intervene a lot of times to the point of me forgetting about the parcel until recently. The thing is I wasn't given any tracking number for the parcel, only shipping number. How do I bring the subject matter to their attention without any tracking number?
*
If there's no tracking number, it probably means it's not trackable.
I suppose you can try to call them and give them your shipping number, see if they have any records about your stuff.
But i would say don't put too much hope since it's nearly 4 months ady.

Hi guys

I bought an item from overseas and it has arrived at Malaysia via USPS Express Mail, with the current status is "Customs Clearance" from the tracking website. So do I need to call them and ask or wait for their call / letter? What's the next procedure to do the clearance if my item got stuck there? Thanks.
*
if your custom clearance is smooth, the the next tracking update should be Customs clearance processing complete.
just wait for the update, another way to find out will be through pos malaysia website track and trace page to see the updates.

if your item is stuck at custom, you can go to clear it urself or appoint pos malaysia as ur agent to clear your item for a fee (rm49.50 if i'm not mistaken).

Thanks for the quick reply, bro.

I have checked at the pos malaysia website, the status is "Arrived at inward OE/Receive item at OE".

This has been status quo since 16th October
*
hmm... usually the custom clearance takes one day, max 2-3 days.
if like that, i suggest you calling them up to be sure if you don't want to wait for online tracking update.
next tracking upate from pos malaysia should be 'Departure from inward OE/Send item to domestic location' if there's no custom delay.

USPS express mail should reach within one week if there's no custom delay.

if i'm not mistaken, your item is on its way to your local post office before it is posted to you.
