Need some help, my friends wants to get some pistons for his car engine, which are unavailable locally, so have to get from the US.

It easily costs around 2.5K, questions are:

1) will it be taxed?
2) any problems bringing in car parts?

Hello, just wanna share here

sad.gif Kastam recently getting more and more strict. The other day went to lcct to collect my package, realized that the officer counter 3 no longer there lols the new arrangement also making it even more slower to finish per transaction. Before that for half an hour procedure now it took me 1 1/2 hour to finish it... haisss so sad now also very hard to avoid tax dy even those below rm500 also kena ask to declare form, last time no need 1 vmad.gif
So advice for those who long time or first time going there be prepare to wait the Loooongggg waiting. Gud Luck!

If I exceed a certain amount of purchases on online shopping, am I liable to pay any custom duties and taxes in Malaysia? Because I'm aware that in Singapore if you exceed SGD 400, you actually have to pay a 7% GST... Anyone can provide me the maximum amount if it exists in Malaysia? Thanks. smile.gif

Hi guys,
I am the noobest noob in custom tax and I have 3 questions:

1) I dont understand the rm500 limit, if its rm500 and above we gonna get taxed. This rm500 limit is per item or the total amount of the stuffs that we imported?

2) Im planning to buy a LOT of leather handbags and wallets for gifts and the price definetely would exceeds rm500 for each item. Can I be exampted from the Duty import? Do I still need to pay the sales tax?

3) Im planning to buy a LOT of T-Shirts and Jersey made from cotton. If I were to take off the price tag and folded them and put them together with my own used t-shirt and didnt declare it, is it a good or bad idea to escape from any tax? I could say these t-shirts are my own shirts that I bought from Malaysia.

Dang, certainly good to live in SG.. Malaysia only have RM500 limit, twice less than SG. I think Malaysia should change it since we are menuju-ing ke arah kuasa besar drool.gif
