Guys, I have questions about Kansai Thru Pass.

I plan a journey, Kyoto>Nara>Himeji>Kobe>Osaka and some of the trains will falls under Rapid or Ltd Exp or Exp. Does the pass cover this or I have to pay and an extra? Lets assume I do not need to reserve a seat.

This is what been mentioned in the site
KINTETSU / NANKAI RAILWAY / Semboku Rapid DESIGNATED SEAT EXPRESS
Additional charge when in designated seat in KINTETSU / NANKAI RAILWAY / Semboku Rapid

This is the line showed in Hyperdia, from Nara to Himeji
Kintetsu Nara Line Rapid Exp.  for KOBE-SANNOMIYA
Hanshin Namba Line  for AMAGASAKI
Hanshin/Sanyo Through Ltd. Exp.  for SANYOHIMEJI
*
no extra pay needed to nara, himeji, kobe, and osaka if u take normal slower train. limited express have to pay extra if its nankai and kintetsu, cant confirm hanshin/sanyo but from my understand its no need

Yes Normal Train, but Express Type. It will stop at Big Station only.
Normal Train which similar like our KTM Commuter. Buy Train ticket and board the train. Find any empty seat, If seat all full, you need standing all the way.

Another one was Limited Express Train, Traveler speed normally at 120km/h while normal train just 60km/h. Stop at Major Station only.

[[Because the Limited Express train didn't stop at Kintetsunara Station, So you have to get down at Yamat Osaidai Station first. thne change to normal train / normal train "Express" to Kintetsunara Station]]

Limited Express normally have 4 Coach, 1 1st Class , 2 Reserve Seat Coach, 1 Non Reserve Seat Coach. (JR Train)
If you buy Train Ticket only, you can board the Train but only limited at non reserve seat coach. If coach seat is full, you need standing all the way. Even you found seat, as long you leave your seat, someone will take over it.

Kansai Thru Pass not covered Kintetsu Limited Express. You have to top up money for train ticket and reserve seat.
Kintetsu limited express require all passenger must buy reserve seat ticket.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but these mobile wifi generally use the same telco over there right?
So the differences are with the device(battery/max connections) and price? As well as collection and return policy.

So I can say, I can use Kansai Thru Pass as long as I avoid riding Kintetsu Limited Express Train if I dont want to pay another additional fare. Correct?

Fuhh....safe! I was thinking to give up on KTP and use Kansai Area Pass instead because of this confusion rclxub.gif
THis is how I intend to use the pass
Day 1 - Kyoto > Nara > Himeji > Kobe > Osaka
Day 2 - Gundam Square > Osaka Castle > Den Den Town area
-Skip-
Day 3 - Osaka > Kansai Aiport

As per your plan, is it enough to just spend few hours in Nara, Himeji, Kobe?

As of me, there is nothing much to see there.
Check out really early morning from Kyoto to Nara, spend 2 hours or so at Nara Park area, move to Himeji for Himeji Castle and Koko-en surrounding area, Kobe just to see Gigantor and Koshien stadium

Hi, wanna ask if anyone has experience going to Tateyama Alpine Route in autumn, specifically in early November. A lot of snow? Freezing cold? Need to bring winter clothes?

Also, in Japan, do things close on Sundays? Or less frequent? For example, if I choose to go Tateyama Alpine Route on a Sunday? Or Enoshima on a Sunday? Or Nikko on a Sunday?
I tried to search and see if there's a day-specific timetable, but it doesn't seem like they differentiate Sat/Sun from weekdays.
*
Entering November... weather are kinda hard to tell plus its on mountain. It may change swiftly. You entering November, their closing season edy.
Just stay alert as heavy snowfall and make sure u have time to spare on tat mountain.

When I was there last 2 month, the final day of Snow Wall on June 22. It was around only 5'C up there...

Sunday not much shop open la. I've been smaller town... all people come out n chill only.

yeah i meant Aeon AND high class malls hahahaha. Certainly wouldn't lump Aeon in "high class malls"  laugh.gif

I've only been to smaller Aeon marts/ supermarkets, not the departmental store version - so I have no idea. Just don't recall having to pay for any plastic bags in Japan.
*
Nowadays... some of the store start charging few yen for plastic edy.

Best is to rent from the ski shops together with your gear if you don't want to buy your own. You can wear jeans and winter jacket of course if you want. But ski gear the main difference is that it has "skirts" inside at the waist area (so snow doesn't get in to your jacket when you fall), and the ski pants are wide / flared enough at the ankles to go over / cover the boots.
