Actually by reading the instruction it isn't straight forward, unless u know what they are exploiting. If i were to root it using the provided github there's no way to un-root it. So if SC is smart or tech savvy (unlikely at all) they can find it. Of coz first thing u avoid is to install the app on the middle screen, that little app icon will give it off immediately. Then there's so many shell script to run, and in the instruction didn't even mention what to do with the whitelist.xml, which i presume i need to modify it.

edit: Just realize our HU runs on android 4.2.2 so old... finding apk to support such old android and working might be a problem, not to mentioned we need to hotspot our phone to enable internet for the HU to wifi connection.

At the end of the day, imho by-pass cable + mirror-link combo is more elegant hacking HU to install old custom app.

you're right. the version is too old to support most of the daily use apps.

Yeah, wasn't sure if I could get 3355 so went with the usual family car plate number since I can confirm it online at RM210 . Went to JPJ twice already, damn tiring haha and been calling up past few days to check if MCY is open or not, Melaka car plate is really slow like snail .

Now time to hunt for best loan rates xD.

Quick update. Slightly more than 2 weeks now, done 1K inspection yesterday.

Complained on 3 rattling issues: driver side A pillar, driver side dashboard, and back speaker / 3rd brake light area.

Condition after inspection:
1. Driver A pillar no more rattling, however the cover is noticeably bended inward (no more a straight line)
2. Dashboard, still same (rattling can be heard whenever on uneven / rough road surface, at any speed, more prominent at low speed)
3. Back speaker / 3rd brake light area no more rattling, however the left side of C pillar cover is noticeably bended outward

The 2 resolved rattling issue seemed to be just a forceful hack by the technician. I was sure both the covers were nice and straight before the inspection.
Also, the "new-car" smell faded quite a bit after the inspection.

Oil life balance is 5400 which I assume quite bad since millage is just 1060. I really tried light footed driving (cruising 80 to 110kmph, took inner left lane whenever possible) and traveled routes though some congestion, but not really heavy traffic.

Will complain on the dashboard rattling again when due for service.

EDIT:
Fuel consumption below my expectation, meter info shows 12.5 L per km. As mentioned I really control on light foot and let the car roll up to speed (maybe I'm treating this FC wrongly). I'm on RON95 since day 1 (last night marked the 3rd time fueling up).
