Few days already with the FC. Mostly just sitting in the porch... still admiring it from all angle.
It just bested my trusty '09 City sharing the other half of the porch, except the speaker system... Both standard stock, City 6 speakers; FC 8 speakers. It's quite an obvious lost to the Civic at any volume level EDIT: I read it again and it may sound confusing. So just to be clear, I mean the Civic 8 speakers system lost to the City 6 speakers This post has been edited by _bib_: Jun 27 2017, 09:39 AM |

QUOTE(v88 @ Jun 27 2017, 11:59 PM) The only can explain the fd1.8 is not stock car.. https://www.10thcivicforum.com/forum/4-10th...en-si-dyno.html QUOTE(andyshim89 @ Jun 28 2017, 11:11 AM) can we change the stock turbo to td05/td06? What about FD 2.0 NA 155HP @6000rpm ? boosting 10psi ok already..kekeke.. want smoke all the fd 1.8 NA i-Vtec Maybe the 1.8 could have beaten the 1.5 at that instance. Bro andyshim89 stated he throttled to 4500 rpm (from the link shared about, 1.5T @4500 rpm is about 140HP, the 1.8 NA max is 140HP @6300). The situation was the 1.8 catching up from behind and tailgated... it would have rev to max rpm, and probably at a higher kmph before taking open lane (air resistance advantage) to take over. Also for the 1.5T, sudden rev of throttle to 4500 rpm doesn't mean the turbo and torque convertor able to instantly transfer all the power to the wheels. So, when both vehicle side by side with same HP, the 1.8 may already be 10kmph faster with lower air resistance, down shifted (locked) gear at its peak. |

Quick update. Slightly more than 2 weeks now, done 1K inspection yesterday.
Complained on 3 rattling issues: driver side A pillar, driver side dashboard, and back speaker / 3rd brake light area. Condition after inspection: 1. Driver A pillar no more rattling, however the cover is noticeably bended inward (no more a straight line) 2. Dashboard, still same (rattling can be heard whenever on uneven / rough road surface, at any speed, more prominent at low speed) 3. Back speaker / 3rd brake light area no more rattling, however the left side of C pillar cover is noticeably bended outward The 2 resolved rattling issue seemed to be just a forceful hack by the technician. I was sure both the covers were nice and straight before the inspection. Also, the "new-car" smell faded quite a bit after the inspection. Oil life balance is 5400 which I assume quite bad since millage is just 1060. I really tried light footed driving (cruising 80 to 110kmph, took inner left lane whenever possible) and traveled routes though some congestion, but not really heavy traffic. Will complain on the dashboard rattling again when due for service. EDIT: Fuel consumption below my expectation, meter info shows 12.5 L per km. As mentioned I really control on light foot and let the car roll up to speed (maybe I'm treating this FC wrongly). I'm on RON95 since day 1 (last night marked the 3rd time fueling up). QUOTE(dinozilla @ Jul 13 2017, 06:08 AM) The oil life estimate won't so accurate at the beginning...just leave it to run more...after 3-4k should be more close to it Thanks for the tips. Can advise if I should continue on tendering the throttle? Don't mean to say I'm the "revving gang", just consider myself an average driver who mostly tend to have some hurry intend... I really don't enjoy the deliberated and tiring foot trying to control throttle every time I drive. It's not really about fuel consumption, it's more about the engine being new. I just heard hear-say that I should drive gently for the first few Ks. |

QUOTE(giggs_509 @ Jul 13 2017, 09:31 AM) after 1000km no need to gentle already bro. on the oil life its due to congestion, also if u waiting in the car with engine on it will decrease oil life. QUOTE(dinozilla @ Jul 13 2017, 11:09 AM) just drive as who you are... Alright, thank you all sifus anyway, the minder's oil life can serves as an indicator of how your car been through for that past period prior to your service, so if you notice your oil life shortening quicker...n u wish to keep it longer back...drive gently... its basically a reflection of how you been driving...so be true to yourself |

QUOTE(isr25 @ Jul 24 2017, 10:48 AM) Just a quick summary on my 100% RON97 fuel usage after 1 year, 1 month of ownership. Using the Fuelly app to 100% track my fuel usage. You do the calculation on your own data (not based on the meter info), right?Distance travelled: 17,749KM City vs Highway: 74% City, 26% Highway Type of fuel used: Shell V-Power, Shell V-Power Racing, BHPetrol 97, Petron 97. Mostly Shell though. Average Price per Litre paid: RM2.38 Average Price per Fuel Up: RM77.40 Average Price per KM: RM0.174 Average Fuel Up per Month: 3 Total Money Spent on Fuel: RM3,095.84 Total Fuel Used: 1289 Liters Best Fuel Consumption Achieved: 19.7km/l (5.076 l/100km) Worst Fuel Consumption Achieved: 10.66km/l (9.381 l/100km) Average Fuel Consumption: 13.8km/l (7.246 l/100km) I mean I do the following to track fuel consumption: 1. Fuel up full tank 2. Reset mileage on meter 3. On next refuel, check fuel volume (how many liter on fuel pump) until full tank 4. Take reading on mileage DIVIDE fuel volume shown on fuel pump in step 3 (eg. 482km / 41.83liter = 11.5228 km/liter) So, my last reading being 11.5228km/l, but meter showed 12.5km/l] If you can get 13.8km/l on manual calculation, it really is super since you mentioned 74% city I think I'm about 65city 35hway. I really did tried light foot on my last tank, and also base on the gauge: tried to maintain @ 20 and above whenever possible. Still fuel comsumption of 11.5 is considerably high, which is below my expectation. Also I cannot maintain cruise (not using cruise control) speed @ 110kmph if I want the gauge to stay @ 20. I'm starting to think the 1.8 might do a better job to maintain the cruising speed (and result in better fuel consumption)... On my 2009' city, I can easily maintain cruising speed @ 115kmph and its gauge right on 20. Fuel consumption is very consistent 12.5km/l eventhough I always throttle hard picking up from traffic light and travel along trunk road. The civic (TCP btw), on this fuel tank almost half tank now, I am driving like my city. So far meter shows 11.7km/l. I'll update again on actual on my next fuel up. Side note: I prefer the normal auto gear box on the city a lot more. Driving hard with paddle shift on the CVT is a put off EDIT: I stated manual gear while it's normal auto This post has been edited by _bib_: Jul 26 2017, 11:17 AM |

QUOTE(isr25 @ Jul 26 2017, 11:10 AM) Yup, did my own calculation - reset odometer, I fill up to the brim, reset again. If you drive at 110km/h, the tachometer should be at 1,800rpm on a flat road. The fuel consumption should be around 20-22km/l on the system. I'm on 5th tank now, over 2k total mileage already. Of course, still hopeful fuel consumption will improve...The 1.5 should maintain the speed better compared to 1.8 due to the higher torque and HP at that 1,800rpm engine speed - both 1.5T and 1.8 hits 110km/h at 1,800rpm. First few fuel up will be terrible - especially below first 1,000km. I did a long distance driving from JB to Melaka and achieved the best fuel consumption of 19.6km/l after 2 fuelups Master Sifu On Honda City, I was able to get 22.x km/l travelling to penang (110kmph - 130kmph). Coming back kl 18.x km/l (140kmph - 170kmph) EDIT: Sorry, I read your post again. You meant 13.8km/l overall, including the 19.6km/l which brought the average up. Tq Tq. QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 27 2017, 12:38 PM) Newbie checking in! Car collected at 10km, fittings looks ok except the rear bumper left side gap a little bigger. [attachmentid=8995743] Nice ride. Congrates EDIT: Have it light on the pedal. I got a speeding ticket within a week after picking up the car. (122kmph while limit is 80kmph). You just don't feel the speed in the car at that speed. QUOTE(sophisto @ Aug 29 2017, 12:55 AM) Just took delivery of my car , have steering issues. Is not accurate and too light even at 90kmh or 120kmh. It tends to move much more than I desire and I need to compensate the other direction. Even my passenger felt it and freaked out. Driven many cars in my life never felt so risky making turns. Hoping between City and Civic, City is much lighter at any speed.Any one has this issue? However, it is quite different and took few drives for me to get used to on the Civic. From default steering wheel position (straight / center), to completely steer to left most or right most: * City: 1 3/4 turn * Civic: 1 1/5 turn Even ignoring the different in mass, wheel base, etc., just the same steering motion on 2 cars would be quite distinct. For example, avoiding pot holes, by habit / instinct, one would find the civic somewhat too responsive to the extent "over sensitive"... So, I'm guessing not that it's light, it's rather its shorten turn ratio. |
