Honestly, I feel 10th gen civic's turbo lag is quite serious, u don't have confidence to cross T junction or turn into the roundabout when your car is at full stop position ...this is quite disappointed ..
*
Honda purposely did this for reliability, i believe people who have already installed hondata might got rid of this. (jason pro youtube video said so) laugh.gif

Well u need to make your car as 100% highway drive only and no tailgate rclxs0.gif , green indicator all the way only, change your dash display as fuel consumption monitor and drive at 20km/liter or more.

Well at least we are better than the US counter part dealership. Their newly release Type-R price has been mark up significantly goes as high as 10kUSD more than retail price(source: from youtube review comments, articles and fb click bait news). First time i heard a car that gains value even after purchasing. Demand is so high... I was wondering how many of us going is to buy type-R if it landed in here.

hi,

I saw review elantra sport seem to be nice power car against civic , but the dual-clutch transmission isit  reliable to use ?
*
In brochures, the century sprint of respectively 7.7sec (DCT) vs 8.2sec (civic). 201hp(265) vs 173hp(220nm torque). For that results i would say civic CVT isn't sloppy at all in real life. In terms of reliability of hyundai DCT, no comment, however there's a real life example hyundai veloster turbo(also available in malaysia) has been using it, don't seems to have problem at all.

My larger concern is that it looks like someone tried to damage my car. Looks very unlikely to have happened when I was driving, as I would have heard the impact.
So that leaves either:
a) Someone hit my car when it was parked
b) Someone purposely tried to damage my car sad.gif

Not visible la, especially TCP LED headlamp, you don't say no body will notice. Mine TCP headlamp also got scar, no one notice it.

Just think of it this way - if it really works... You can charge this to whomever wants Waze directly on their HU brows.gif

But I thought Android SDK is free? Only wanting to publish on Play Store need to pay the USD25 fee iinm.
*
Maybe i should sneak into one of the showroom car and hack it, no need to risk my own car ph34r.gif brows.gif

android sdk is free but not the cable lol. you need cable and laptop and the rest are pretty straightforward but of course there are some users can't get it work too

i jsut wondering if the SC able to find out your rooted HU. warranty is the concern as i just encountered my bluetooth device inside HU cannot be turn on for no reason. even android auto is not detected too. reboot the HU twice then work again doh.gif
this is not the first time happen
*
Actually by reading the instruction it isn't straight forward, unless u know what they are exploiting. If i were to root it using the provided github there's no way to un-root it. So if SC is smart or tech savvy (unlikely at all) they can find it. Of coz first thing u avoid is to install the app on the middle screen, that little app icon will give it off immediately. Then there's so many shell script to run, and in the instruction didn't even mention what to do with the whitelist.xml, which i presume i need to modify it.

edit: Just realize our HU runs on android 4.2.2 so old... finding apk to support such old android and working might be a problem, not to mentioned we need to hotspot our phone to enable internet for the HU to wifi connection.

At the end of the day, imho by-pass cable + mirror-link combo is more elegant hacking HU to install old custom app.

Err... scratch that... just found out that someone wants to claim warranty on the gearbox grinding noise, but HM rejected the claim due to installing 3rd party bodykit & strut bars - dunno how true of course, but it's something for you to think about.

From what I heard, it's the way I said above.
*
Curious case, what if my bodykit is genuine OEM Honda Thailand would they still treat it as third party? Something to think about hmm.gif

Do let us know when you claim warranty! biggrin.gif Hope we never need to claim of course. About the grinding noise, I dunno if I ever wanna claim warranty coz it's not something that will degrade long term (according to Honda) and they need to open up so many parts of the car to replace the transmission. I'm scared something else might go wrong after replacement sad.gif

Anyone else in this thread claimed warranty on the transmission?
*
In-fact i do have warranty item to claim that i have yet to file, my passenger seat cushion has hollow area (no sponge). I did got away with race-chip during service tho. The chip is housing near battery area where there's an perfect compartment to house the chip but it is clearly visible because the chip has orange stripes.
And the SA didn't notice my Thai bumper as well... mellow.gif

Not upgrading your racechip to Hondata?
*
Actually i shouldn't bother to put race-chip, stock is the best (i drive like uncle). Best modification is no modification, only some personalize touch to the car aesthetic. biggrin.gif

Hi guys, im planning to get civic, should i wait for civic si? Oh wait, will malaysia have those in this coming september? Or october?
*
Si trim is usually USDM, at most Canada will have it but not for asia market. Even the Japanese doesn't have this trim.

For now, the production of civic si are for markets that have drivers driving on the other side compared to ours. So not possible can be recon model. But at least the uprated parts bin can fit into regular civic, so a little research and sourcing, can mod your civic to si with some effort.
*
It's totally different, and the biggest change is the transmission being a manual and si has limited slip differential. In short it is just different, well the only thing u can mod it is the front and rear bumper to look alike, and these 2 items estimated costs around 4.2k MYR+- without paint.

Gloss finishes won't be as nice as good old paint job. I did mine at Getto in Kota Damansara, more expensive than others, it's a professional service.
