will it can fit firmly with bigger diameter ?
oscillating very fast ....

Yes ... the purpose of the washer is to make the diameter smaller ... so no problem with oscillating. You can confirm with any hardware shop.

Never use and never had one but it looks to me that the price of the unit is more on laser guide using button cell batteries. On the dust collection side it was no more than that cheap accordion cup. smile.gif

The lowest price I saw on Shoppe was around RM40. The button cell is a turnoff for me with short distance.

If for concrete or wall drill, the dust is a lot more.

Can suck or not this small vacuum?

ya i think they use button cell because the laser level can be taken out and there's no space for normal AAA size batteries. Anyway the laser level just plays a small part of the whole thing. More important for me is the dust collector

the suction is only so it can stick to the wall. the dust itself is just collected by gravity I guess.

anyway I ordered one to try. blush.gif

Dear sifus, plan to drill a hole here to hang photo rack, as you can see tried to do it manually but failed sweat.gif

1. Looking to buy our first power tool (noob here), is GSB 180-LI enough for this job, or overkill? Min requirement cordless.

2. Any cheaper alternatives? Don't mind China Taobao stuff. But prefer something that lasts longer.

3. Going to renovate new house as well, having a set of better tools will be better?

you hammer the wall with nail? blush.gif

18V drill (GSB 180-LI) is a good choice and will last long as it also has a multi-purpose role. it can use as a screwdriver too.

Do take note because there is no hammer function, you will need drill longer for the wall (brick) and even longer for concrete.
If you want to spend, then get a cord hammer drill and a battery drill.

Use the hammer drill to drill the wall and the battery drill to fasten the screw into the hole.

Edit
mybad, GSB 180-LI have impact function which is even better. just this will do the job.

Yeah hammer with thick nail, overestimated my ability sweat.gif

Thanks for the explanations!! Would you suggest any cheaper brand/model? Or lower end 12V ones. Just to do this particular job.

Don't think we will use it very often, might end up collecting dusts.

If you are not going to use it very often, then just get the corded hammer drill. Even branded one also not expensive. Non-branded one even cheaper. smile.gif

The size of hole is the size of the wall bracket hole bolt that you are going to use obviously.

Does your brackets comes with bolt and nuts? The weight is lateral to the bolt direction. So, not too much chance that the bolt will slide out. Anyway, TV nowadays is not heavy like few years before smile.gif

Don't need to drill anymore for frame hanging.

Use this --> https://shopee.com.my/3M-Command-Large-Util...3974.1632087392

Cheapest way.

For TV bracket, standard package should come with 10mm wall plugs and screws.
If yours doesn't come with these, you may buy the sleeve anchors with minimum 2 inches length and 8mm/10mm diameter.

For TV wall cabinet, it depends on whether your Ikea type comes with suspension rail or not.
If it doesn't, please get better anchors like 10mm and ~3inches length.
With suspension rail, you may follow the instruction in the manual.

Get either bosch or black and decker so you can find replacement battery in coming time unless you ok with diy the battery too. 14.5v and above if you want to drill wall. Weaker the drill you hv, more likely you will dmg the wall as you need to spend lot of time waiting for the drill go deeper (eg hole will uneven due to hand movement).

Your rack should hv measurement what bolt it can fit. Else M8 (8mm diameter) is more than enough. I used 4x M6 for a 55” inch tv rack. Mr Diy sell stainless steel wall anchor very cheap.

If dont diy often, the model ts mentioned is better as it has a multi-purpose function. For the corded drill, it cannot be used as a screwdriver.

Those sleeve anchor are very commonly available.
The separated ones (called drop in anchor) are easier if first time installing - if the inner part's skirt doesnt open, then the anchor won't mount anything. Easier to remove the bolt and try again.
Sleeve anchor can be a suicide mission if the hole not deep enough or the skirt fail to open all the way.

Drop in= https://shopee.com.my/-100--ORIGINAL--SIN-H...ByABEgLX_fD_BwE

Sleeve anchor = https://shopee.com.my/SYW-SLEEVE-ANCHOR---W...BCABEgLJHfD_BwE

For drop in anchor they will write the bolt size - metric M8 or M10 size or those in inches 1/4 or 5/16 so u need to get the right bolt (size and length need to be just nice - no need full length (there is a stopper halfway) if using drop in.
