I think GSB180 is old model using carbon brushes while GSB18 is newer version with brushless motor, there are many more different between them

correct me if I wrong~  sweat.gif

both are traditional, brush motor type

the brushless one would have the 18V-EC labelling

Maybe the difference is price is due to charger power and batery capacity?

so i managed to spare some time and created my own DIY dolly

i call it luci-dolly V1 (need a couple more dollies so ask you guys for input idea for v2)

the castors are RM 12 each. 3" / 76mm size wheels. there's a cheaper one selling for rm9. maybe i'll use that later for v2

user posted image

just use self tapping screws to fasten them together

and completed. luckily it's level.

height is 5.2" / 130mm sweat.gif

maybe for v2, i am gonna use a shorter belian plank (man, that stuff is heavy) and have 3 castors instead

the 4 castors are quite near and they do rub with each other when you turn, but not so often. maybe i should make one of the castors with brakes?

oh btw, the cost are only at the castors. the rest are readily available. LOL

rm48. not bad. i guess should be able to carry 100kg weight for each dolly

Actually i have order during 11.11 sales, after discount rm581 with 3 x 2.0ah battery, after that i saw gsb180 spec, i realized that its torque and no-load speed is much higher, price also much cheaper, i'm thinking to return the item and buy gsb180 instead.

How about using many units of ball rollers?
Each roller is about 21mm tall and cal hold 25kg.
There are bigger models that can hold up to 45kg each.
But using this ball, no brake to stop it.

nais

but this one is limited to smooth surfaces. if wan to roll over tarmac / asphalt or dirty surfaces might clog the ball bearings easily

rm25 each is also quite exp. i mau try the rm 9 per pc castors. there's also rm6 rubber castor, but only left 2 pcs in stock at the hardware store. but i afraid rubber might easily get damaged, compared to nylon

This caster is probably 80-100kg/pcs load.

But add up is too height ? You have a hard time carry up the thing to the dolly. Plus the 4pcs swivell will have a maneurving too much.

Do not use rubber for heavy load. You will have a hard time to push and rubber generally cannot take heavy load. (unless bigger wheel)

MC nylon, phenol or special reinforce plastic is better.

Hmm, maybe be useful to build a general purpose outfeed/infeed table support with the rollers on top.

i agree on the rubber wheels not for heavy load. it might deform under pressure and wont roll anywhere

5" height shouldnt be a problem if i am moving pallet box crate

what i am going to move are crates like these, where they have access for pallet jacks / forklifts to carry. so i might perhaps can just slid the dolly at that area and use a crowbar to lift maybe 1" or so. hopefuly it works. LOL

save the mani. LOL

i use whatever is available with me, plus i dont have a welding machine to toy around

a 1/8" thk metal plate would be too flexible whilte a 1/4" plate would be very heavy

plus using the wood and screws, i can play around with the castor configuration and sizes before i more or less settle down with a permanent configurations
