KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom Axiata Bhd has earmarked RM1 billion for its 2021 capital expenditure (capex) to improve its network capacity nationwide.

Speaking to reporters during the virtual media briefing on Celcom's fourth quarter of 2020’s (Q4 2020) results today, chief executive officer Idham Nawawi said the investments are to support the aspirations of the National Digital Infrastructure Plan (Jendela).


He added that the telecommunications (telco) giant would focus on enhancing the Fourth Generation (4G) network LTE pop coverage to 95.6 per cent, delivering a consistent high-definition video experience, improving indoor coverage and offering seamless Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) experience.

"Celcom will continue to invest in deploying the latest end-to-end technology, such as the 4T4R multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO), carrier aggregation, 256 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) and many more," he said.

4T4R is a transmit and receive mode for base stations, with four transmit and four receive antennas

i logged into celcom ocs today and surprised to see that a prepaid number that i forgot to reload many years ago is still appearing. does this mean i can still recover the number and credit balance?

You can try calling that number first to check if it's in service. If it's not, then may be you can call Celcom to check if it's been recycled to a Xpax simpack or Celcom still has it as an unregistered number that Celcom may at its absolute discretion allows you to register it as a new postpaid number.

Kinda disappointed they pushed VoLTE only for postpaid users for now. Why now to other prepaid users too?

Not even all postpaid users. I'm on Mega plan now and don't have VoLTE, apparently I have to wait until I get Android 11 update.

Not really. They use bot. Need to 'chat' till real person respond.

I would say don't waste your time on Twitter and just call their CS instead, at least they're quick in response and able to reach their technical team quickly, the staff on Twitter might treat you as if you don't know how to enable VoLTE on your phone and ask you bunch of dumb questions.
