A bit skeptical about roaming performance on Asus since it is missing kvr roaming?
*
They added k/v few years back and it's pretty seamless these days

Deco is still slightly more sensitive and will roam slightly more aggressively, could be a pros and cons depending on you

Not sure if 88u supported this, I'll consider getting something like AX59u if it does

Anyone encounter thing like this? My son laptop seems to have registered 2 different mac address on my x50 5g. I'm wondering how did it get 2 mac address? The one with all caps seems to be connecting and disconnecting all the time.

Windows random MAC address feature messing around?

Never occured to me before. I would try updating the WiFi driver on the laptop.

I double check and random mac is turned off. I even reboot the router but still the same.

Looking for Deco systems that supports DoT/DoH
At the moment the official website only listed support for X50, X55
Is this legit? Newer Wifi 7 ones doesnt support?

Yes, just Deco X50 at the moment, they have not implement this feature for their WiFi7 series, but should be coming for it at anytime.

So far so good, but ads are getting smarter and bypassing the blocks despite using DoT.

Hi, need some help on setting up the X50.

I am using Celcomdigi fibre, and trying to replace the free router with x50.
Downloaded the app, and follow through the instruction from app, but was stucked at last step (connect to internet). It failed to connect to internet.

I have selected PPPoE, and fill in the username and password (extracted from the old router configuration). Have also tried enable the IPTV option but it still didnt work.

I am using LAN1 from modem to connect to the X50. If i switch x50 using same cable to my previous router, then the internet is working, so definitely not internet down or issue with modem/cable.

What else am i missing?

Thanks

Do you use LAN1 previously as well?

CelcomDigi is tricky, some might be on DiGi VLAN, some might be on Celcom VLAN

It gets even more complicated at Sabah where they have even more backhaul provider

Using BE230 for the past 2 days. I have to say the network performs much better even on my WiFi 6 devices. You'll see significant improvement the moment you start to use after setup.

Have been using mesh router = main XE75 (2024) + 2 nod unit X20 (2020)

Recently dunno why can feel that X20 has some issue like :
Wired : no issue, has internet
WiFi : connect but random no internet suddenly (browser just stuck loading, not moving; however not mentioning no internet)

I have to llike disconnect wifi from my device and re-enable it then it will connect (it might connect to my main and working fine)

Sometime have to reboot X20 then only fine

* FYI, all mesh are wired connection

Is it time to change router... ?

I have two of xe75, the problem is lack of support since late last year because most of deco wifi 6/6e eol'ed
Last time got firmware update last October or November last year, until today no firmware update at all

If spend a lot of money just for wifi 7, stay away from tp link, better look for deals about Asus routers

Now tp link be series, software support I think is quite bad, new features slow to roll out (including the much debated DoT, DoH features.)

Yup, their firmware update focus on security fix whenever there's a severe issue.

Only their selected few mainstream models receive more firmware updates

Yup, that's why I only use BE65 as AP. Currently using Openwrt as main router with AdguardHome for DOH & AdBlock.
