right now using Archer AX73 for unifi 500mbps
can Deco X90 connect to modem using mesh?
because X90 only got 2 pack
or buy Deco X68/X60 got 3 pack

1 mesh connect to modem router, another deco mesh 1st & 2nd floor house

For business reasons, archer series cannot work seamlessly with deco series

You can only hardwire deco to optical modem or router(ap mode), you cannot connect via wireless/mesh

Hi guys,

I am planning to change a AX router, currently still using the router from TM(since 2015 or 2016). Went to computer shop, was suggested to get AX50 or AX73. I was actually thinking on AX23,but the seller told me that if devices are more than 5,maybe 7-10 performance wise will be affected alot. Thats why he suggested at least go for a AX50. Any suggestions here?

Also I also saw some posting saying that AX50 has overheat issue?anyone can clarify this?

I am using Unifi 300mbps. I do not have any wifi 6 atm. I am actually aiming to get 100-200mbps for 2.4ghz in the whole house.

AX50? Better run!
No one using this now. AVOID as possible.
The more expensive the better. As due to lower CPU and RAM too low, if too many traffic will be congested.

Unrealistic expectations, 2.4ghz hard to achieve this

Avoid ax50, there is newer model now available called ax55 with better processor

If you don't plan to buy newer devices with wifi 6, then you can get deco hc4 2 pack

Hey guys,

These two days I am facing a problem.Am still using Archer C5 given by TM. Was using
Wifi channel:7
Wifi width:20mhz
Wifi mode: N only
after viewing from one of the post before. Before yesterday things are fine.Yesterday, out of sudden, all the devices are able to connect to the internet but cannot use (2.4). I must stay very near to the router only can use. I tried to change to other channel which the performance is ok this evening, however same issue happened just now. Anyone knw what may be happening?

I was told by the seller that the processor,50 is better than 55. Meaning i should just go for AX73? Based on my current condition,is AX23 sufficient?or for longer term just opt for AX73?

What's your budget?
Processor good but Intel CPU can overheat.
AX55 is cheaper but no overheat, still manageable.
AX73 best bet. AX23 is low end so might not be sufficient.

My main goal is to have consistent performance, currently AX73 is 499. Although is quite expensive, but if its necessary and really able to last for long period without performance issue,I would consider it. Quite a few years ago I had bad experience on buying router,2 routers different brand but having freeze issue, thats why I will have phobia when dealing with router, afraid of spending without solving anything

Check with Samsung whether their S21 Ultra sold in Malaysia is capable of receiving 6Ghz.

Most OEMs disabled them despite having hardware support as the band is not permitted in Malaysia until recently.

I don't think the vendors will enable them eventually as they need to undergo recertification with MCMC.

Tq. I guess thats why my friends s21u cannot connect to his router via 6GHz...

I suggest you consider AX55, AX72, AX 73 all capable to handle 20 devices easily.
the AX72 specs say can handle 100+ devices .
these are latest routers and working well , not seen complaints of design issues.

2.4G hard to get 200mbps speed.
its old tech and most routers only built 2 antenna for 2.4G hence performance cannot be tops.
you want 2.4G for your cams ?

AX50: runs very hot, already EOL because inhell bailed out of home router market

AX55 : IPQ0518 dual core a53, cooler, 4 streams (2+2)
AX72: same IPQ0518, 6 streams (2+4)
AX73: BCM 6750, 3 cores cortex a7, 6 streams (2+4)

Choose one of these depending on your budget, if your budget around rm300, AX55 is great
While AX72 and AX73 trade blows each other, overall is almost same

AX50 downside is no repeater mode. Just buy those 120mm case fan with feet to cool it down. Still using it. And I even bought a 2nd unit for RM160. Love the 5Ghz signal strength compared to my older Tenda AC18. Still keeping a few AC18 for better 2.4Ghz signal strength for smart switches.

does tp link have easymesh products? just got my maxis fibre router and stated easymesh.

Easymesh better than Deco mesh? Or the same item?

Staying in 2 storey house. Dont think current router from Maxis can cover the house.

Thanks for the advise!!

Easymesh is open standard but for now still rare in branded routers

For now none of tp link routers support easymesh
