Can you recommend a good router + mesh wifi setup for below to maximise Unifi 800mbps speed over wifi?

House type: Landed
Size of house: 3000-3500 sqft, 2 storey
Features required: just need for wifi6 and Unifi TV box, prefer wifi 6 to future proof router
Number of devices connected to WiFi: ~5 computers, ~10 mobile phones/tablets
Internet Speed: Unifi turbo 800Mbps package
Budget: below RM500 possible? if not, please advise something below RM1k.

Router will be placed at ground floor TV area, is there 1 router that can give the 800mbps wifi speed to 2nd floor? if not, what's the suitable router + mesh wifi setup?

thanks in advance!

Both are great in terms of speed and stability. For me the AX20 is enough. AX50 has a overheating issue but not sure if this issue has been resolved or not on the firmware update

AX20 or AX73

Skip AX50 and AX10

Thanks for the suggestion guys. Just bought AX20 just now because it was on sale. Nice timing tbh.

Guys. I want to ask. Between AX20 and AX50, which one is much more better in terms of stability and speed for 100Mbps ? I'm thinking of changing my router since this AC1200 provided by TM keeps restarting on it's own and internet keeps dying even though I already make a good airflow from below. I heard that AX50 heats up pretty fast because of the Intel chipset. Anybody can confirm this or have any other suggestions ?

Not sure which model TM gave you but my Dlink DIR842 is working well except the coverage is not suffice for my crib and I need to maximise my speed

May i know how big is your house and if you are only using Ax20 without any AP or repeater?

I got the TP Link AC1200. Keeps dc everyday now and also. it restarts on its own. At first it was ok but now everyday restart especially when I'm gaming.

Same. I bought at the same price but I'm on Shopee.

Thanks for your reply. Apparently, I think the router has already upgraded to latest EU firmware from TM themselves. Don't know if this is true but this is what the firmware is now.

EDIT: I saw the thread you mentioned before and there is a new 11/20 firmware but I've read the DC issue is still there but will happen in several days after the upgrade.

enable VLAN setting

Internet VLAN ID : 500
IPTV VLAN ID : 600

Thanks.
Managed to get it up & running just by ‘Enabling Internet VLAN ID : 500’. As for IPTV VLAN cannot be located.

Those with Archer AX73 or any 160Mhz WiFi 6 router, consider disabling the 160Mhz mode unless your devices support 160Mhz.

Disabling 160Mhz will provide better overall performance for 80Mhz clients.
*
May I know where to find it? to disable the 160Mhz and the coverage will wider and signel stonger ?

Well, I've managed to connect my Astro PVR Decoder (model: DPH5000NA) to the network but only via cable connection currently. Can't connect through WiFi no matter how.

Looks this is the only way to settle it for now unfortunately. 😥 Not the end of the world, but definitely a drag.

Hi there, I try to connect the LAN cable from my Astro decoder to Deco E4 Lan2 but it doesn't detect any network. My LAN 1 is connected to modem. When I try to check the IP address in Astro decoder it shows LAN ethernet is not connected.

May i know how do you connect your Astro decoder to Deco unit via LAN? What IPTV/VLAN profile or setting do you use? Thanks!

Ah that is a bummer. Thanks for the clarification. Guess I'll just change the router if the problem still there even in the newer update.

if I'm not mistaken, Astro IPTV will have some problems with the connection to Deco.

You can call Astro customer service to ask for the VLAN ID for Astro

Dead sure cos I tested new pwd on old router before trying on new ax20...

UPDATE: issue resolved by resetting the new router and start all over again. Awesome coverage even without the repeater now and improved speed too

Guys..

On AX20 currently all devices has no issues with connection except my office laptop thinkpad which is unable to detect the WiFi. I've tried creating Guest WiFi on 2.4 but it is still not detecting. I've no issue with previous old router...

What should I check?

My interim solution was setting up asus rtn12hp as repeater just for this laptop to connect. The Unifi dlink DIR842 can't be used as repeater unfortunately
