That obviously vdsl. You are on high rise building instead landed. Landed is FTTH which is full fiber to house which required 2 device.

While vdsl old one use 2 device, now latest one use 1 device can already.

I believe you can change it to bridge mode to use your own router.

Thought of sharing my experience. Recently , Upgraded to 100Mbps

I am getting about 94-95Mbps and about 50Mbps upload speed. Pity the tm installers as they wanted to replace the router and modem

Basically , I decided to use back my old modem and the my custom network setup. It's still working very well

Just got some info from a friend. TM will introduce new Unifi speed packages next year, 200-500 mbps.
*
yup, I second that. they plan to introduce in april actually...but u know TM right...they like to stretch the time more than they promise laa.

the jumbo lite pack I think the best hypptv pack offered....I will change to jumbo lite since my children really like nickjr...but right now we still on free viewing period right...so after 30 june the channel will be normal again.

hi, installed modem dir-850l near downstair tv. upstair now have weak wifi signal.

is there an alternative to buy higher power modem to extend coverage? any recommendation?

If your streamyx is Modem+Router then can, pull 1 lan cable and use adsl router and set as DHCP mode can already.

old ADSL router doesn't support WiFi to WiFi bridge.

Repeater no, but you can use LAN cable, change the internet mode to DHCP.

But here you can change to TP LINK firmware: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3224961/all

Do it at your own risk, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

repeater for ease of setup, no LAN cable required, only standard 13A point. i'm using repeater, the speed & coverage is quite good. mine is 2 1/2 storey house, can get around 20Mbps+ on repeater, full speed 50-60Mbps if connect straight through router.

i'm using this, less than RM100

so modem adsl-riger-db120wl cannot use as repeater. seem complicated procedure. if do not update firmaware, can still do as you said?

if use lan cable, then need long cable to make sure can get better wifi coverage for upstair, rite?
