QUOTE(spikey2506 @ Jun 23 2017, 11:05 PM) From my understanding, if the monthly is the same, we are allowed to swap. Jumbo Lite and Aneka both priced at RM30. CS also confirmed no penalty. So I am sure this is a mistake by their billing dept In my case, I subscribed Ruby Pack when it was offered at RM40. Wonder if I can request for the pricing to be adjusted to RM30? |

Seems like very quiet here tonight... Wonder if because many cannot go online due to UniFi disruption

QUOTE(Zi-Tech @ Jul 5 2017, 08:12 PM) I do realize one thing about the distribution cabinet & those boxes on poles. Those PSTN ones that are directly connected to exchange only have numbers labelled on it. Those PSTN lines that are connected using a digital loop carrier (copper from premise to cabinet, then fibre to exchange) have the letter F on it. Usually, these cabinets also have another by its side labelled with the letter S which is for the RDSLAM for Streamyx ADSL. And for UniFi FTTH, these boxes are labelled with the letter C. |

QUOTE(Ckmwpy0370 @ Jul 5 2017, 09:22 PM) I think it's just a way for TM to identify the type of equipment/cables on their distribution boxes.F probably means Fiber (NOT UniFi Fiber, but those old phone lines that are multiplexed at the roadside cabinet then connected via fiber to the exchange). S probably means Streamyx. And the C used for UniFi Fiber, well, I have no idea what C could stand for. |

If I remember correctly, regarding VLAN500 for Internet, that is only true for the PPPoE connection from your router via the modem/BTU.
In other words, the Fiber/VDSL2 link is a VLAN trunk carrying VLAN400, 500 & 600. At the modem/BTU, VLAN400 is channeled to the VoIP (SIP) interface for the VoIP service. The Ethernet connection between the modem/BTU and router is a VLAN trunk carrying VLAN500 & 600. VLAN600 is channeled to LAN port 4 for IPTV. The VLAN500 is only for the PPPoE connection while the remaining 3 LAN ports on your router is your local subnet without any VLAN. Hence, I guess you need a managed switch where your Internet access ports should be in default VLAN1 while the ports for IPTV must be configured in VLAN600. QUOTE(fx_53_xt @ Jul 5 2017, 09:41 PM) From what in understand about unifi: VLAN400 for voice VLAN500 for internet VLAN600 for IPTV First of all, I dont care about the voice service . Currently I have a Ethernet cable attached directly from the VLAN500 port to wireless router in the middle of my house for maximum wifi coverage. I also have another Ethernet cable attached directly from VLAN600 to another end of my house where the TV resides in the living room for IPTV. I believe this is the standard Unifi setup. Both these cable are nicely concealed inside the wall. If i would like wired connection for gadgets around my TV too (e.g. PS4, nVidia Shield, TV for Netflix, Netgear Arlo base station etc). My thought is to purchase two switches, 1 placed next to fiber optic modem, 2nd placed next to current IPTV set top box. 1st switch placed next to Fiber optic modem: Fiber modem VLAN500 -> Switch1 port1 Fiber modem VLAN600 -> Switch1 port2 Switch1 port3 -> Wireless router through concealed ethernet cable Switch1 port4 -> Living room 2nd Switch Port1 through concealed ethernet cable 2nd Switch next to IPTV set top box Switch2 port1 -> IPTV set top box Switch2 port2 -> PS4 Switch2 port3 -> nvidia Shield Switch2 port4 -> Netgear Arlo base station so on and so forth. Is there any GBe switches that doesn't strip off the VLAN tags? in this setup, does the network traffic knows where they are supposed to go? Ultimately, passing through the first Switch, does the wireles router gets the VLAN500 internet traffic? Does my gadgets attached to 2nd Switch gets the routed traffic passsed back from the wireless router? Does my IPTV set top box gets the VLAN600 IPTV traffics? Please advise. |

QUOTE(jusbella @ Jul 22 2017, 10:23 AM) I have got this twice this month itself. And yes, my service was really down on both occassions. I still call 100 to report anyway to ensure I get rebate if down more than 4 days.In the first occassion, service was restored after 2 days while the 2nd occassion yesterday, within just 8 hours. |

QUOTE(danieltay @ Jul 24 2017, 04:32 PM) Got update from Maxis that they are awaiting response by TM as this iPV6 is problem at TM end. Sounds like Maxis is bullshitting!!Last time how long did it takes for TM to solve the iPV6 problem? The IPv6 is totally under Maxis control and has nothing to do with TM. TM only provides the infrastructure at the Physical & Data Link Layers. Routing at the Network Layer (including IP addressing) is under respective ISP, in this case Maxis. |

QUOTE(danieltay @ Jul 24 2017, 10:08 PM) Not surprising to me, as I am not able to speak to the technical team. in my case, I am using UniFi, no major problems for me with IPv6. All sites work well most of the time. I only remember a couple of years ago I did have some minor issues that some sites are a little slow with IPv6. But everything is fine most of the time recently. They set a barrier where we are only able to speak to customer service who know nothing but "customer disservice". At the moment, it seems local website like lowyat.net is now okay(intermittently). But overseas one like apple.com, BBC.com, CNN.com still not accessible. But if I have any issues with IPv6 now, it's with my Celcom LTE mobile data. In this case, I actually disabled it on my mobile data connection on my phone. No choice. |

QUOTE(danieltay @ Jul 25 2017, 12:25 AM) In my case, it's only disabled for the mobile data, NOT the Wi-Fi connection which you can't. In other words, when I am connected to my Wi-Fi hotspot at home (via UniFi), I am on IPv6 dual stack. But on my mobile data (Celcom), the IPv6 is disabled. Not sure about iOS though as I am using Android, but basically you need to go to the APN settings and select IPv4 only for APN protocol. And again, this is only for the mobile data connection, not Wi-Fi. |
