Good feature getting removed. From unlimited add cash, bring down to only 5 times per day and now ZERO!

My opinion will shoos away a lot of HG users. HG may see lost opportunity to earn small fees from 'Add Cash' (since no charge) & subsequently withdrawn (also no charge). Conveniences and benefits slowly cutting down. Resulting the losing end from users.

Hard to bid goodbye but definitely less active with this apps and any exciting competitor in future, we may not hesitate to switch without second thought.

I honestly thought this (charging a small fee for "add cash then withdraw" transactions) was a 'win-win' situation for both HelloGold and the users. Unless they revisit this feature, any strong emerging competitor will definitely snatch away some of their lost users.

How unfortunate.

I think a better alternative for HelloGold is to introduce withdrawal fee like Boost, and if it's not practical, to only impose withdrawal fee for "top up then withdraw" kind of transactions.

By removing entirely the 'Add Cash' feature, HelloGold will see certain drop in the number of user and of course usage. As some have mentioned, some people will like to reload now but only buy gold at an opportune time, not now.

If HG is afford to lose local user & usage (since they went internationally), definitely not into much impact on their operations.

I agree on the small fees to make win-win situation. Without 'Add Cash' means you won't probably able to buy in bigger amount than Boost is limiting us

Now wallet $$ only can store money from the SOLD gold. yawn.gif

Sayonara....Hello Gold. I buy gold also because of your add cash function. Now without this function to store my cash and leverage down the fees for buying n selling. it is no longer attractive as your fees is really not cheap.

Bo bian lo...have to live with that since we are using their service.

2% buying 2% selling 2% maintenance fees.... if you open an excel sheet and do some simple calculation, you will not dare to buy the gold.

Good luck HG, and good luck users. whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

Maybe is Boost ask HG to stop this feature, coz Boost is the one who "paying" for the rewards which indirectly bear the buying & selling fee for HG users

Agree, but, the fee charged by HG is high, without the "sponsorship" from Boost, really will lose out...

Hey all.
Just to clear a possible doubt, I would like to inform everyone that you still can Buy Gold directly OR fund your SmartSaver goal using both Boost and Online Banking.

Under the "Select payment method", there will be a dropdown for:
1) Cash Balance
2) Online Banking
3) Boost

If you have sufficient Cash Balance, you can utilize it to buy the amount of gold you would like OR Fund your SmartSaver goal. Alternatively, you can use your Online Banking account or your Boost account to make your purchase OR fund your SmartSaver account.

Hope this clears the air smile.gif

They are using 3rd party payment gateway (like ipay88, eghl, revpay or etc) which normally will charge them for each bank/cc transfer.

From my understanding, the free one only apply to those physical shop and they need to generate their own merchant QR for customer to scan and pay.
For those online payment, the vendor need to use 3rd party payment gateway that support Boost and it normally come with fee.

Yup. There's 0.79% when you buy gold. - Boost reward is higher than this if you split your payment into RM60 (guaranteed RM1 cashback)

When you sell, there's 2% fees.

On monthly basis, there's 2% admin charge per year, which will be charge to your account on monthly basis, based on the number of days you kept your gold.

So I guess there's no workaround for this. Besides HelloGold, anyone knows other platform, would be much appreciate if you could DM me.

You can trade GoldETF with Affin Hwang Asset Management directly in Bursa Malaysia. Stock code 0828EA. Also Shariah compliant. Brokerage fee only as low as 0.01%. Annual management fee less than 1% already reflected in the NAV.

Buy/sell 1 trading lot is 100 unit = 1g (around rm200 now).

Cash in broker's trading account will give around 2.5% interest.

The main advantage of Hello Gold from GoldETF is availability of cash in using credit card and Boost, despite its much higher fees than GoldETF. Now if Hello Gold want to chop down its mere advantage, then there is not much competitiveness to ETF, other than you can buy at RM1.

come on guys. why want wasting your time to discuss how HG should operate in favor of your ownself? You can't change anything.

whatever fee HG absorb/charge really none of our business. They have made a decision and they definitely know/predict the risk of losing tons of customer from that decision. So just bid your farewell and stay away if you don't like the decision. You can always come back if they decided to reverse the decision.

spend your time to earn more money/improve ownself is much worth it.
