Yes, same error message here... Unable to addcash

HG is buggy today.

It seems I was only able to add cash RM30 for 5 times from Boost this morning.
The same error message occurred two days ago, when I did 5 times of Add-Cash (RM30 thrice, RM500 twice).

So I'm curious whether HelloGold set a frequency of Add-Cash transfer from Boost?

Yes. I read someone (from HG I presumed) informed on the policy changed in Boost thread.

Thanks so much! Yep that's what I noticed too. I was just thinking to slowly topup RM30 for 50 times to get RM1 cashback from Boost, until RM1.5k Boost wallet limit. It is going to take 10 days then 😅

rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  what a gr8 strategy. I never thought of this even I do this once a day with amount varies.
I'm doubt your Boost only use for this? Lots of attractive spending going on with Boost at this moment.
Noted. I skip HG access yday. This morning working fine. Tq.
*
I've managed to topup 5 times everyday for the past few days, but today I only managed to topup 3 times before the error message appeared. Hmmm 🤔

For Boost, I only use to earn coins via RM100 topup, and to transfer to HG to buy gold. I do buy gold via Hello Gold, and have been doing so for the past 6 months.

Only this past one week I noticed I can withdraw cash easily via HG for free.

HG charges is lower compare to Boost Shake Reward you gained, so it's good return from this perspective.
HG cash withdrawal is hassle free as I did few one since last one. Good experience so far. I didn't actively buy gold but I committed to Smart Saver monthly for 12 months programme.
*
Yes no complain with HG cash withdrawal, totally hassle free. Even add cash from Boost earns you shake rewards. Imagine for every RM30 added from Boost, you earn RM1-2. Do that 5 times a day for 30 days, and that's RM150.

Yes I invested via Smart Saver too, I reckon this dollar cost averaging strategy is apt for precious metals investment like gold.

It's pretty long enough considering Gold is pretty much stagnant all this while.

By the way, HG isn't working with Boost as they've just updated their hardware and server along with a new app update.
*
Same! Have been trying to add cash via Boost but unsuccessful. Only managed to do once, not five times as before.

I think of it like this, topup with boost and consider the fees paid for.

Anyway, anyone using smart saver feature?
*
I'm using the Smart Saver feature. It works brilliantly! biggrin.gif

How its work? Can share with us?
*
Thought it's pretty straightforward.
Setup the Smart Saver feature, and it will help you to buy gold with the lowest price of the day on a daily basis, for the entire month.

I treat it as a monthly saving, and topup money once a month for this purpose to fund this goal.

I think a better alternative for HelloGold is to introduce withdrawal fee like Boost, and if it's not practical, to only impose withdrawal fee for "top up then withdraw" kind of transactions.

By removing entirely the 'Add Cash' feature, HelloGold will see certain drop in the number of user and of course usage. As some have mentioned, some people will like to reload now but only buy gold at an opportune time, not now.

Good feature getting removed. From unlimited add cash, bring down to only 5 times per day and now ZERO!

My opinion will shoos away a lot of HG users. HG may see lost opportunity to earn small fees from 'Add Cash' (since no charge) & subsequently withdrawn (also no charge). Conveniences and benefits slowly cutting down. Resulting the losing end from users.

Hard to bid goodbye but definitely less active with this apps and any exciting competitor in future, we may not hesitate to switch without second thought.
*
I honestly thought this (charging a small fee for "add cash then withdraw" transactions) was a 'win-win' situation for both HelloGold and the users. Unless they revisit this feature, any strong emerging competitor will definitely snatch away some of their lost users.

How unfortunate.

They at least should inform buyers few days ahead b4 they going to remove the function. Not removed silently. Doing like this, i for sure will scare to buy their gold under their platform as after bought, not sure what will be changed overnight without prior notification.
*
Just like any change made to the credit card benefits offered by banks. They will usually give an effective date for the changes to apply.

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Oct 15 2019, 04:07 PM)
i got RM0.70 from 5x transactions RM1.22 X 5 = RM6.10 for 0.006g x 5 = 0.03g of gold and it shows worth of RM5.9 for selling off, so still gain RM0.50 cents from RM6.10 transaction

update: actual selling price = RM5.93, so means the return is 8.69%

my 2nd 5x transactions gave me 20+20+10+10+50 cents rewards!!! seeling for RM5.93 again and earn RM1.46 for RM12.20 transaction, return 11.97%!!!
*
Thanks tan_aniki for the tips! Appreciate if you could keep monitoring this transaction pattern and update us from time to time.

Will try that next month myself, as I have hit monthly transaction limit of RM4.5k this month, before the "Add Cash" feature was removed.

so following Tan's tip, i purchased RM1.22/1.21 80++ this morning.
Initial money in boost was RM100, Final Cash in HG is RM115.62

profit - RM15.62

note - it took me around 3 hours to finish the RM100 gold purchase
*
I just managed to try it now.
Took me around 30 mins to perform 25 transactions. Probably will take 2 hours for RM100 gold purchase.
Oh dear...

QUOTE(skty @ Oct 16 2019, 12:59 PM)
don't need to complicate things.
HelloGold fees all based on gold price at that point of time when you do transaction.
just buy any amount, you won't lose any hidden cost from the fee.
*
Essentially tan_aniki was just trying to earn Boost shake rewards, to cover the hefty HG fees.
The thing is that Boost shake rewards are not linearly proportional, hence his method works (minimise buy gold fee to 1 cent + maximise gold unit bought @ 0.006g).

From my limited trial just now, my return was about 24%.
Just imagine someone does this for the entire RM4.5k monthly spend limit set by Boost.

As mentioned by avinlim, 15% of RM4.5k is not a small amount, unless of course you are a high income earner then why bother about this small fish.

QUOTE(JayWeC @ Oct 16 2019, 01:21 PM)
Anyone experience any delay in withdrawing out money?
I've withdraw yesterday approx 11:30am and now still haven't get.
Abit unusual, normally if withdrawal before 12pm, they'll credit to your account latest by 10pm on the same working day.
*
Will keep you updated if my money credited into my account by today.
Withdrawn at 11am just now.

ermmm... I know all these tricks already. Maybe you don't know me but some will always PM me to share good things together.
I post that message with a hidden meaning. Those who get it will get more than those blindly follow tan_aniki's method.
but the credit all go to tan_aniki. His selfless sharing make a lot of people realize it. I myself even know this already, will never post such direct message because the more it exposed, the faster it is patched/fixed.
you still don't understand. maybe you try to think about it more deeply. I don't wanna post something that is very clear and spoon-feed everyone.
*
Hmm probably need certain amount of data to know how much to buy from Boost at one transaction (to maximise shake rewards), coupled with using Excel solver to get the next number of minimising charge + maximising unit.

Actually all these are fun, ie HG, Mae, Shopee Quiz etc and it adds up, but recently I reflect and think I'm just spending too much time on all these and getting a little tired with e-wallet stuffs

I need more time to do trial and error sweat.gif
