this service has no point rite if a telco's data network is not good?
*
this volte can only works when u and the called party are both attached to LTE.

if 4g service is bad/not good during volte, then the call will transfer to 3g. process called srvcc.

Then it will be even more no point since most ppl will not be even in a telco plan such as maxis that has superb 4g network. But instead on other telcos due to the Lower in price.

In this case, most ppl cannot really take advantage of this service especially if they are on this one.

Seriously speaking nowadays the call network should be super not congested due to the super low call usage by ppl nowadays. Anyone should have no problem making a good quality call on 3G network unless they are on this one which has poor coverage. So I do not see any benefits that ppl will urgently require such service for call.

Unless anyone is really so concerned about he faster setup call. Or download and call at the same time on LTE?

Volte is using LTE network, not 3g. the point of volte is its higher voice quality, not its setup time which may take few miliseconds more.

and yes, u can download and call at the same time on LTE. this is possible bcoz of the higher throughput of LTE network compared to 3g.

yes, but on 3G, voice calls do not use data. So in terms of stability, it is better since it is going thru a dedicated path for voice.

the volte is free, users do not pay extra than just normal call charges, but is there is no 4g connection during the call, the call may be disconnected.

I dun know how much clearer the voice would be on volte. But given the low usage of calls and give the quality of calls nowadays, it is not bad. It is just nice full hd vs 4k, 4k is good, but full hd is also not bad already. the demand will be similar to the wish that ppl switching to 4k at this stage. Good to have, but not compulsory.

This statement not truly correct....
3G also got HD..

The main concern to have HD or no is
1) same telco
2) HD supported phone

Means, as long as both party at same telco and support HD, ur call will be HD

*not for UM 4G/3G to UM 2G
* HD voice for maxis 2G/3G to maxis 2G/3G (mean inter 23G)
* Soon will support inter operator, eg, celcom 3G to UM volte etc
* 100% HD call as long as both party are registered volte/vowifi within same telco, eg um vowifi call um volte(Ur statement is here)
* HD calls for inter volte call soon? (Digi volte to UM volte)

that is up to the telco on how it implemented the solution. i believe every telco must has taken this into consideration.

one as i mentioned before, is srvcc, which is handover from 4g towards 3g network. this process should be invisible to the users.

but that of coz was tested in ideal situation. there is a slight possibility it may not succeed in real network environment, which the worst can happen will be drop/silent calls if the handover fail.

ok, finally get some real reply after waiting for 2 months since the 1st complain to Umobile & about 2 weeks after complain to MCMC.

Umobile customer relation said that the bad network connection & instability was due to a maintenance job being done in the area of old klang road.
now the work was just completed in April last month.

BUT why their maintenance job takes up to 4 months to complete confused.gif as i start having such problem since early January 2017.

then 2nd, i did oso complain of the turtle speed of internet, but in the reply NVR mention about it at all, only connection & instability problem.

are they blind confused.gif can't see the complain of turtle speed i sent before confused.gif

so last nite i made some speed test again with both 3G & 4G, once around 8.30pm another around 11.30pm

clearly they did nothing about the fucking turtle speed ranting.gif

the info from u mobile.

it makes sense, because this solution relies on LTE. so u mobile has the greatest challenge on this solution as their LTE network comparing to other 3 telcos really .......

even the current calls or data, u mobile is already not on the ideal state, not to mention about LTE.

Wifi calling that one can understand since it is tapping on any working wifi. And it does not really on their own network. This make sense especially it is the telco that is known to have poor coverage, so wifi calling compliments it.

But voLTe I really did not see much relevant to it given its poor network coverage and speed.

If this service is on maxis which has solid 4G coverage and speed, this service certainly make sense.

Works well on my Digi LTE too. The advantages I would say I truly enjoy is that the network wont switch to 3G when a call is made or a call comes in. So this is particularly important when you are tethering or using your data would not be affected when a call comes in. Network clarity on LTE calling is really good but its not that important as the other party may not have it.

actually u guys can not to enable voLTE if you feel umobile network are not stable or else. they are not forcing you to use it. at least they are the first telco which offer both voLTE and voWifi at the same time.

yup, this is the only advantage i can think of that one will care about VoLTE. but seriously speaking, normally one tether only from own devices. so even calls come in, the person will be attending to calls, so the cut of 4G during call should not be a big impact also.

same goes to the voice quality, nowadays the voice call quality is also not that bad also that one will need a super clear voice call. especially nowadays ppl really make voice call only when they really need it and the call is normally short.

Strange your speed is really bad. Have you tried your SIM on other phone?
Recently my condition really got better, although still drops from LTE to H+ often and failed to load page at times, but the frequency of this occurring is low
