QUOTE(westlife @ May 8 2017, 10:19 PM) Wifi calling that one can understand since it is tapping on any working wifi. And it does not really on their own network. This make sense especially it is the telco that is known to have poor coverage, so wifi calling compliments it. But voLTe I really did not see much relevant to it given its poor network coverage and speed. If this service is on maxis which has solid 4G coverage and speed, this service certainly make sense. Works well on my Digi LTE too. The advantages I would say I truly enjoy is that the network wont switch to 3G when a call is made or a call comes in. So this is particularly important when you are tethering or using your data would not be affected when a call comes in. Network clarity on LTE calling is really good but its not that important as the other party may not have it.

QUOTE(Awakensoul @ May 18 2017, 03:33 PM) True. But their 4G is more stable compared to 3G because it fluctuates between H and H+. I beg to differ. I would say the other way round. Their 4G coverage sucks especially when you are indoors.

QUOTE(joshhd @ May 29 2017, 01:21 PM) P78 = Unlimited quota, but speed up to 5Mbps. Unlimited video streaming at 1.5Mbps (Video-Onz) P98 = 30GB quota, no speed cap, best effort basis. Unlimited video streaming at 1.5Mbps (Video-Onz) All U Mobile prepaid and postpaid plans that comes with Video-Onz, the speed is limited to 1.5Mbps, which is 480p smooth SD streaming. Sometimes, my youtube on 480p stutters. QUOTE(bryon @ May 31 2017, 02:57 PM) Q1 2017 Malaysian Telco Subscriber Digi 11.78 million Maxis 10.67 million Celcom 10.2 million Umobile 5+ million (estimate) XOX 1.7 million (estimate) Tunetalk 1+ million (estimate) Wow.. Digi has come out tops.

QUOTE(joshhd @ May 31 2017, 06:51 PM) Then it might be either the particular video's bitrate is higher than usual, even in 480p. Or, you are in an area where the download speed is lower than 1.5Mbps, causing buffering even in 480p. Its always a hit and miss with UMobile's network. Only one word, unreliable. I strongly advice against anyone who has to depend on UMobile's data network for work purposes. This post has been edited by TOMEI-R: May 31 2017, 10:08 PM

QUOTE(rai_fuzz @ Jun 4 2017, 11:10 PM) Just ported out to Celcom due to unstable speed with Umobile's data. Even with full signal LTE, the line will suck. And for some reasons unknown, I can't use VoLTE on my iPhone even though it is all activated. I've monitored it and everytime it will switch to 3G during call and revert upon disconnecting. But, once it stabilizes, for sure I will be back to BIG data bucket of Umobile 😂😂😂 VoLTE works fine on my iphone though. Did you enable VoLTE in the first place? And you need to be within coverage to utilize VoLTE.

QUOTE(adamhzm90 @ Jul 6 2017, 11:27 AM) new Umobile app is kinda messy and clustered.. old one is more simple and easy to use Couldnt agree more. I just dont understand why app developers wants to make things more complicated to show that they are capable.

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jul 8 2017, 02:28 PM) Time to upgrade your phones... C'mon Android 4.1.2 is Jelly Bean and was released back in 2012.. Tons of OS specific improvements have happened since its release.. Phones running Marshmallow or minimum Lollipop are cheap today.. JB is considered obsolete. My 2 cents. Very true to that. But no matter what, the UMobile app is still buggy.

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Jul 9 2017, 01:39 PM) yeah I notice that, lucky there are some workaround for it that I am mostly happily using it right now. Still, line stability is a huge concern here, I believe the worst thing about uMobile is the tower hopping issue. You are standing at a spot where signal is decent, then you try to access internet, seems like it doesnt work you then notice your signal seem to be a little jumpy, from 4 bars to 2 bars and to 4 bars again. This is the situation caused because they only have low penetration frequency i believe, and i also heard complain about how Maxis is throttling their speed in favor for Maxis' own speed Hopefully the mass migration to 900Mhz in the near future will solve most of the line issue Just like what happened to Digi in the yesteryear. Only one word, UMobile need to pull their act together and upgrade their network infrastructure.

QUOTE(Awakensoul @ Jul 14 2017, 06:05 PM) Very true. Jellybean and Kitkat is so so ancient. Omg I bought my note 3 neo 3 yrs ago. And it's on 2gb ram Android 5.1.1 now. I wonder how many ppl actually can survive today on a 2gb ram. Minimum also 3gb ram due to heavy games and graphics. It's not that expensive to actually buy a marshmallow Android version phone. Redmi 4x cheap cheap only If you are on MM, 2GB ram is still ok and runs quite smooth.
