I use Umobile for internet at home for a few years and have always had a great experience with it, subscribe mostly to the MB128 plan and switched to the MB50 plan since now got the 12Gb promo.

But since February, suddenly their 4G coverage in my apartment dropped from full-bar to barely 1 bar. I have lodged a complaint and initially the CSO told me it was due to a transmission cut in the area, that was 2 months ago. Ever since I have not been able to receive a stable connection on their LTE network.

I suspect they had actually dismantled the eNodeB and moved it to another area to provide coverage, forcing most users in my area to fallback to their 3G network which I again suspect is now congested because of the pathetic speeds I am getting.

Area being Ampang Ayers Tower. I work in telco, and I specialize in RAN side so unfortunately those CSOs aren't able to fool me. This month will be the last month I subscribe to Umobile, I'll be switching to the Maxis plan now which is slightly more expensive but at this point is much more worth it.

Guys, my area now has Umobile 4G already, want to try it but want to know if Umobile has any issue with TAC delivery services? (such as late delivery, or some short codes can't reach umobile numbers etc)

Yes you may have slow delivery of TAC or OTP occasionally as UMobile is using 2G network from Maxis. So I don't wait for last minute to do important things that require TAC/OTP.

No TAC from HLB when I 1st MNP, called both umobile and HLB and they both pointing finger at each other.

1 month later I call umobile again and they asked me for the no. that HLB send their OTP, only they told me the reason why I couldnt received OTP is because Umobile block the no.

So basically the 1st umobile CS useless and couldnt located the problem. Now everything working well EXCEPT for the damn umobile internet speed(got 4G but coverage sucks)

after mnp, regardless from which provider, you need to re-register with bank at atm machine

Sigh, I had 4G but everything loads slowly as hell. All the pictures in FB is not loading at all. Not sure if location issue or Umobile is getting worst.

In my case, don't need to re-register the same number with bank after mnp to UM. Still can receive TAC etc...

depend on bank. possibly they depend on the service provider for the shortcode service.
last time when i mnp from max->cel also got such problem, but not for all banks.

Yes umobile like is not stable....but dono why la.... I still hv good impression on them specially every time they launch new offer. Maybe because of their price ? No matter how I mnp from one telco to others I still will maintain one under umobile.

agreed. but their wifi calling is really useful since their own network cannot connect at all

Wifi calling that one can understand since it is tapping on any working wifi. And it does not really on their own network. This make sense especially it is the telco that is known to have poor coverage, so wifi calling compliments it.

But voLTe I really did not see much relevant to it given its poor network coverage and speed.

If this service is on maxis which has solid 4G coverage and speed, this service certainly make sense.
