Hello there, I am new to this thread.. Been reading this thread from page 30.. Quite lot of information..

I am a fresh graduate with chemical engineering background. I have been to Petronas SI in KLCC and already got an offer in one of PCG. I think the position is process engineer or plant engineer(dont have the offer letter yet) Now need to do medical checkup.

The problem is I also got an offer at asiaflex Technip for position project engineer. The location is at Tanjung Langsat Port Johor. What do u all think ? Which one is better choice to start my career.

I am aiming to get Ir. as early as possible. From my info, Technip is good company but the position offered I am not sure is related to my degree or not.

Please all the seniors and taiko here help enlighten me on this matter. sweat.gif

Project engineer is a jack of all trades kind of position. Generalist. Pretty hard, but not impossible, to get Ir.

Plant engineer, on the other hand, is not related to your qualification I'm afraid.

Process engineer is what you should aim for.

PCSB HR is known for their slowness in completing tasks, even a normal one. My advise is keep calling them, and ask about the offer letter and the GL. Dealing with these people, whom 'tomorrow' means '10 days later' need a lot of patience. All the best.

Each company has their own hr dept taking care of talent sourcing..but at the end of the day they will pass the recruitment to hr holding (you may call it hr hq)..onky hr holding can do the recruitment for permenant staff..

The one that called wanafnan to report duty at Kerteh is from PCSB.
These are the ones that I'm talking about.

Don't know much about other depts HR.
From what I've heard, the HR that took care of RAPID's new hire is slow as well, but not as slow as PCSB's.

Honestly, NO. smile.gif But the experience that you gain is more valuable later on when you progress or you plan to look for opportunities outside. smile.gif

no more allowance la bro, except for offshore allowance, there used to be technical allowance for the petrotech people, but then the HR & finance people used their political power to dissolved the tech allowance, in the end everyone got the same allowance.
