Is that true, with regards to the 10.x.x.x part? I assume that IP address refers to the "gateway IP" figure. I have that for as long as I remembered, and I have no problems connecting to online MK8D matches in the "Worldwide" settings. My "Global IP" starts from 60.x.x.x though, checked from the network settings on the Switch itself.
Was previously worried about that "private IP" and "NAT behind a NAT" thing, coz I wasn't connecting properly to Tekken 7 online matches properly (if at all). Turns out I just needed to port-forward a few TCP/UDP ports and the floodgates of online matches opened. And my modem/router IP is still 10.x.x.x. Global IP changes between 60.x.x.x and 175.x.x.x, and I get better results from IPs that starts from 60.
Or only applies to Streamyx, not UniFi?
your global IP is what you stated 60.x.x.x, 60.x.x.x confirmed it's not private IPs, it's a public IP, likewise for 175.x.x.x
your modem/router IP can be anything, but most common presets are 10.x.x.x and 192.168.x.x, which is your local LAN IP, it has no impacts on the connectivity
for online multiplayer connectivity issues, most of the time the culprit is the port forwarding, especially on PC, different games might use different ports, especially it's an issue for an household with multiple devices. for consoles like PS4 usually just need to forward a few ports and you're good to go.
Or another easy way out is to put your console into the DMZ for the best result
for the shitty private IP issues, for TM, it's mostly happening to us Screamyx users, but I've heard a few cases from UNIFI users as well, but it's rare.
Not too sure about Maxis & Time, but I heard they're also giving out private IPs nowadays.
That's the problem with our shitty telco infra here, all caused by monopoly from a certain GLC party
IPv4 already considered ancient dinosaur tech in IT timeline, and many countries already moving forward to IPv6
most of our network equipment since 5 years back all can support IPv6 already, so rolling out is not really an issue,
and yet... they're still sitting on it for years, while they're running out of allocated public IP for this country
hence the issuing of the shitty private IPs to the home users
