Wait for the rebate credited into your credit card and call to cancel the card and transfer the balance to bank account

Yes, can transfer if your card is cancelled. They can't be holding your money, I wanted to do the same for my HLB Wise but I asked them to transfer to my MACH card.
It will incur some charges to transfer though if it's not within the same bank.

Finally, someone from CIMB Call Centre able to understand the situation. After he verified, confirmed that my Cash Rebate for Online Shopping was calculated based on Posting Date, instead of Transaction Date. But As per check with CIMB CS several time, as long as the transaction is done before 1 Nov. It will be entitled for 5% instead of .2% (Local Currency ) or 2% (Overseas) transaction. He logged a report for further checking. Hopefully can recover the missing cash rebate.

With this info it seems CIMB is very generous giving all other cards with points will have the points forfeited once cancellation request initiated

I thought you were referring to cash back? All points will be forfeited upon cancellation.

That was my idea with cash back as well. Logically it should be forfeited. It is benefit from the bank that they usually can take it back the moment you cancel their product

I am waiting for this as well. I still couldn't see it in my account. What the hell?

I wanted to clear the payment and cancel the card but I still couldn't see the second 15 bucks rebate that I was promised when I called to cancel previously sweat.gif
