Aiyah..already posted on 1st page. dy..You can do your calculation..but if u do not mind the ~ RM0.30 lost for every NT$10 exchange rate you change in M'sia, no harm changing all NT$ in M'sia

Hope the fiollowing helps.:

The current money changer rate on NT$ change very little every year..always ~ RM10.90-RM11.20

The actual market rate by Bank Negara & other world market is at Rm10.50...Well you already lost ~ RM0.40 to RM0.60 here!!

If u change to US$ (And you know currently getting better), you will be able to conbvert back to NT$ at the Taoyuen airport at ~ RM10.60.

Well..RM0.30 might be small for certain ppl-lah..haha

They did accept RM but the rate is very very low compare to Msia.
As per advice on the first page, CHANGE to USD in Msia and then CHANGE USD to NT, u definately wil earn more.
One thing to make sure is the USD note u change shud be year 2005 onward note ELSE u will be charge additional fees.

Hi, need some guide on how to reach " Window On China".

Its at taoyuan area as i checked online.

Anyone can provide me with transportation guide using MRT or BUS to that place?

Reason for going: See doraemon mini world smile.gif

Rates for transportation will be very much appreciated if available, thanks guys/gal. i m going there on middle of june, booked ticket already.
(I know its a hot summer there + some chance of typhoon )

"Window On China" got 2 interesting shows; Taiwanese Folk Art Theater Face Changing 09:30/11:00/13:40 and European Castle Stage Funny Clowns 11:30/13:30
check out www.woc.com.tw.

Nothing really interesting there except the Doraemon park, the only one in the world i heard.
You can reach there by taking train to Chungli then transfer to Hsinchu Bus (directly across the road from Chungli Railway Station) to go directly to Window on China
or
By MRT: Taipei Main Station > Jingan ~14min then
TaiLien’s E-go (Taiwan United) Buses Fare: NT$120 (one-way) NT$236 (return) ~ 1hr"

Well I follow the first route but unfortunately the timetable does not fit the bus schedule so I take taxi frm the ChungLi station to there ~ NT500. Chungli a nice shopping town too, ask the taxi driver to bring u to eat the famous beef noodles in town, u won't regret it NT90/bowl

doh.gif gee already explained so many times & just posted..U do your calculation & it's up to you to change your RM to US$ 1st & thereafter to NT$ in Taipei OR as you wish you can even change your RM to NT$ direct at the airport there & getting even worst ever rate!! If you did that you will be few saying KL food much cheaper than Taipei bcos of u changing at ~ RM12. ++ at the airport!! worst than the worst money changer in whole malaysia...But US$ is very stable here in M'sia & in Taiwan..thuse all money changers dun really impose a hefty high commission compare to NT$ in Malaysia & RM in Taipei.

Hope this clarify..Wondering anything wrong wth the explanation on page one or need to enhance abit? biggrin.gif

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am planning a Family trip on next year Jan (2011), with my mom, dad and my GF.

I know it is too early to plan but I hope will able to get all the information right before making a real decision, that is booking a ticket.

I tried to read all the posts in this tread, but some information is kind of old. Even some is not even relevant to answer my doubts. Anyway, below are my conditions and questions. Hope these queries are not too much for the Taiwan Travel Kaki here.

Conditions:

Type of trip: Family Trip
Person Who are traveling: Dad (54), Mom (52), Me (27), GF (25).
Budget: not too fancy nor too budgeted, around RM14k or less will be better (inclusive of everything + air flight)
Travel date: 10th to 20th (around 9 to 10 days maximum, willing to adjust to minimum 7 days)

Questions:

1. Will my fund/budget sufficient?
2. Will it be too cold for my parents?
3. Will 9 to 10 days enough to travel around Taiwan
-Taroko Gorge
- Yehliu Geopark
- Dansui old street
- Taipei 101
- Chiang kai Shek Memorial
- Jiufen
- Alisan
- Sun Moon Lake
- Hehuan Shan & Chinjing farm
- Beitou Hot spring (Taipei)
- Yang Ming shan ( Volcano & hiking)
- Wulai Hot spring
-Other(s)
4. Required: accommodation where near to food stall (my dad is a food motivated person), around RM100~RM200 per room will be fine
5. Anything that I needed to be aware of?? Like clothing on winter season

Appreciate for your advices and suggestions on this Family Trip.

Regards

1. 14K shud be sufficient for 4 person. This provided u dont spend it on expensive branded goods.
2. I went there on late January tis year, weather is cool, normal jacket + scarf is gud enuf.
3. The place you listed in at Taipei & Tainan area. I spend 6 days at Taipei and surrounding area, manage to visit most famous place, except Sun Moon Lake (canot day trip) and Yang Ming shan (not interested).
4. Foods is everywhr in Taiwan but if u wan the famous 1, u need to go to many different places. Most ppl stay at Ximending area or Taipei Main Station area (easy to get transport everywhr).
5. Nothin, just relax and enjoy. EAT AS MUCH AS U CAN !!

Geee...ur geography during 2ndary time might be teruk liao..haha,,just joking..Those sun-tropical countries...So expecting 4 seasonslah...Northern hemisphere..Oct going to Autumn mth probably cooler but still on high side...Judging on my previous trip to almost similar to Taiwan weather, during summer mth (June to Aug) temp is nothing diff from what happened in m'sia during recent CNY,,infact temp can shoot up to 38C! worst than M'sia!

Oct probalty ~28-30C just like current weather. Winter mth start from Mid Nov till Feb, - Temp 12-25C

I would not mind to have that for my normal trip, but my dad.... sad.gif

He is kind of choosy sometime, he won't like the share bathroom thing.
Any other choice, i hear Taiwan have lot of ming su. and most of my friend recommended it to me. Any good Ming Su to intro??
