I think Wufenpu is too large. Wholesale market suitable for those who like to buy in big bulk. You can reach there by taking train to Songshan Station, juz 1 station frm Taipei Main Station. Exit the station > On your right is Raohe Night Market > On your left is Wufenpu

erm i tot go to wufenpu need to take to Hou Shan Pi station? @.@ how come exit at Songshan~ so near already?

Sonshan is the conventional railway station & not MRT. Housanpi is the MRT station. U can decide which one u want. Housanpi is located South of Wufengpu & Songsan is on the North side. South to North probably ~1.5-2km distance i.e that's the size of that 1960/1970 eras flats dwelling/ narrow shops area in wufengpu.

Wanted to ask, normally how all of you here usually plan your accommodation beforehand? I give an example...

Say I'm going for a 8D7N trip to Taiwan... Plan to stay 6N in Taipei, then 2D1N at Yilan, then the last day return to Taipei for thte last night before heading back on the 8th day...

So what you do about the accommodations?

If I book early, should I book for the 1st six days and the last day? Or just book the whole week, then when I'm there, inform the hotel / hostel I'm checking out for 1 day, but I'll be back the next day?

Any advice? Thanks a lot... =D

Depending on your budget-lah. I spent RM520 per pax excluding air ticket for 6D5N in Taiwan. Total inc of tickets was RM1300.

Stayed in budget HOSTEL (RM30/nite/pax), less on souvenirs & eat hawker food (~RM15/pax/day). Spent mostly on transportation & entrance fee...

1) Easycard (Taiwan Touch & Go) - RM60/pax (for 6D5N) - MRT, bus & train
2) Taroko train ticket - RM80/pax return.
3) Taroko day taxi cum personal driver - RM220 or RM55/pax
4) Taipei 101 entrance RM42/pax. Museum - RM18/pax

Overall inclusive of air tickets, I spent ~RM5000 (I brought in RM2000, flight tickets - RM3,120, & used up 100%) ..i.e RM1300/pax inc of ticket & RM520/pax exc air ticket. one of my lowest budget traveling....

Just book only-lah..otherwise just walk-in. If sked, just book-in 1st day & thereafter go shopping for better hotel. I was informed that we need to book hotel in advance but I did saw lotsa walk-in guest to the hostel & even at 12midnite!! The best, Manager already gone back & the long staying customer helps the poor tourist to the shared dormitory
