i would think its sufficient to bring a hand carry whereby you could stuff all your clothings in the bag and do your laundry in Taiwan.

Bear in mind that winter clothings/jacket is required during the travel period.

When do you intend to fly? As we looking forward to our trip in Dec 2010 too...

Just got back to MAS..what a tiring flight~
To answer your question, one hand carry is definitely sufficient.
My friend only brought undies and socks + not more than 3 shirts in his bag.
The rest, just buy in Taiwan, wufenpu is highly recommended in terms of price tag drool.gif
Gonna update more of my trip tmr when i'm more sober...sleeping time now tongue.gif

If not mistaken, the moneychanger I saw open until like 7pm but I didn't jalan the whole airport to check out other moneychangers when I was there.

Places u can use credit card hor, charge it to credit card coz much cheaper ler the rate and don't choose the RM option if there is coz the bank might not recognise it. For CIMB, what happened to me was I opted the RM amount coz I can be sure of the amount and the rate was stated there, which was cheaper. Mana tau hor, the stupid Twn bank changed the RM to NTD at dunno what rate which is higher to charge into my CC and CIMB then took that converted NTD and re-convert into RM. Double whammy!!! vmad.gif

Credit card & ATM withdrawal for sure cheaper than changing RM to NT$ either in KL/airport because MYR is not competitive trade both in Taipei & KL!! Imagine current NT$ at money changers in KL avg RM11 whereas the actual mean market rate is at 10.50!! Not woprth it

Eityher change RM to US$ & thereafter to NT$ & getting avg RM10.60 after commission OR suffer at RM11 in KL..

Otherwise..Witdraw usi9ng your ATM once you arrive at the airport - banks will charge at market rate of ~RM10.50 + commisison of ~ RM12 or more per witdrawal

I'm trying to book the express train tickets from Taipei to Hualien. However, from the schedule on the website, it shows:

自強 1082 山 彰化 至 花蓮 17:02 19:12 2小時10分 逢週日行駛。太魯閣號,不發售無座票。
自強 1069 -- 樹林 至 花蓮 17:40 19:46 2小時6分 逢週五至日行駛。太魯閣號,不發售無座票。

Did you guys board the train to Hualien from Taipei in Taipei Main Terminal or other train stations (彰化 and 樹林)? From the schedule above, it's just the boarding location that is different?
