Out of curiosity, will there be any problem when someone hacked our 'floating' money?

Users usually get hacked when they leave passwords in unsecure areas like their email accounts, forget to enable 2FA, passwords written on a piece of paper and placed on the table etc.

Please educate yourself on IT security management and it should be fine.

I'm very impressed......this was a pretty well written guide.  thumbsup.gif
I have taken the liberty to correct some typo errors and added in some minor elaboration, and added the entire article into the first page.

Kudos to kmarc for the V1 guide, very useful for newbies.
As for Luno (formerly BitX) , I've been using them since 2014, definitely one of the best exchanges in Malaysia.

Here's a tip, when you start going down the rabbit hole, you only put in an amount you're willing to let go.

"Oh I lost RM100, oh well"

You keep doing this every week/month while tracking your cost, if the price dives, you just watch only, don't do anything, it'll always return as long as the system isn't in danger.

If it rises significantly, like say +50%, you take profit and earn back your cost. Then you resume the buying schedule.

I've been doing this since August 2015 and I've never lost anything at all, just regret didn't save more whenever I can.

Be sure to safeguard your coins, if you don't want to spend money on hardware wallets, then you need to learn how to setup a paper wallet.

It's not about Storj's functionalities that mattered the most, it's their reason for the switch. The fees are getting unsustainable and they finally picked another chain.

This is enough for some bitcoiners to throw in the towel and convert to ETH, thus the flippening continues on.

Interesting. Makes ETH more valuable. Ok ok let me buy some ETH..... (checks ETH prices)..... WHAT??!!??? USD 46.8!!!!! ETH always like to do that to me. mad.gif

Personally, I think it will be worth it but you need to be prepared to lose the money too if it doesn't work out.

Thx. Oh, so Luno is good? I thought liquidity was a problem? Mind sharing how it works so that wengherng can update the info on Luno? In search of good prices, I might even try out Luno. See how....

Lots of sellers and buyers on luno, but at a much higher than market price. So not very attractive to me.

Edit: I don't recommend relying this on trades, but it's a cool way to spot price trends.

Whenever it says long, price is going up, if it says short, the price is diving.

I had a similar experience.
I used to think that XBit Asia's prices would be a problem due to lower liquidity, but in that particular case, XBit Asia still offered me a better price than Luno.
Not sure whether this is always the case, but in the few times that I checked before I bought, the situation was the same.

Prices will fluctuate differently between exchanges as the real makers/takers are the exchange users and not the exchange per se.

If say Bitfinex/Bitstamp is priced at MYR 5000 and sellers on Luno prefer to sell at MYR 5100, then I feel it's still a good deal if the price is rising due to rumours/news.

Good morning crypto EnTHusiasts!!!!! ETH at it again. ATH!!!!

Now I can really conclude that flippening is happening (WooTZ going to scold me) and money is pouring into altcoins. Almost all the altcoins I hold has increased in value. My next objective is to research low volume coins to see any potential coins.

Cool, will nibble a bit more later. Don't dare buy too much at this price.

wengherng

Last bit on the guide. Will let you know when it is completed.

In progress.......

Transaction fees

Keep in mind that you will be charged some fees when you make a transaction or transfer. Here's how it generally work:
1) Buying BTC - no fees
2) Selling BTC - free or fees charged by platform
3) Sending BTC from one address to another - network transfer fees
4) On exchanges, fee varies.

These are some examples of fees being charged by different websites/platform:
- Poloniex - https://poloniex.com/fees/
- Bitfinex - https://www.bitfinex.com/fees
- Localbitcoins - https://localbitcoins.com/fees
- Shapeshift - https://shapeshift.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/art...-fee-structure-

Examples of fees being charged:

- Transfer from Airbitz mobile app (in phone) to hardware wallet twice - 0.000812 & 0.00045 BTC.
---- If BTC was USD 1000/BTC, that would mean a transfer fee of USD 0.812 & USD 0.45. Do note the difference of fees is also affected by the price of BTC at that time.

- Transfer from localbitcoins to Poloniex -

- Transfer from Remitano to Poloniex -

- buy altcoins from poloniex (direct buy)
- buy altcoins from poloniex (bidding)

(is there a fixed fees for transfer?)

Don't remember, I use that platform for trading.

Can set threshold to buy / sell.

Popular alt coins will appear there, at least that exchange has been around.

I lost a fair bit at Mt Gox before, stupid case.
