You're right - am from Bandar Kinrara 3 area & still yet to receive my 50>100 Mbps.

50 to 100 not yet upgraded. So far only one reported here that he has been upgraded, not the rest of 50Mbps users.

Thanks for sharing, fruitie.

Any idea if that person who received the upgrade had their BTU and/or router upgraded as well?
If that's the case, it would make sense why the 100mbps upgrades are taking more time (apart from the existing infra supporting those speeds)

i got upgraded to 50mbps from 30mbps. had to shutdown modem for 10 minutes before turning it back on, according to the received sms.

ran speedtest my results are...

local = 46/20

Us server west coast = 35 ish / 10-15 ish

tested on youtube 4k 60 fps seems watchable even when you skip in timeline for a quick preload to resumeplay.

haven't really extensively tested yet, but important thing is international speed is close to the promised speeds at least 80-90% to be considered acceptable.

if i'm not too particularly picky, yes the speed in actual usage is acceptable for my own usage. but considering the subscription fee, i would want them to be sure provide 80-90% of the stated speeds, otherwise they ought to charge me less accordingly :/

Your Unifi was installed way before the expiry date of 28 February 2017.
You should be entitled to the free upgrade.

Noticed a few of you posted on the previous thread are experiencing slow download speeds after upgraded from 30Mbps -> 50Mbps. I had the same problem too and managed to solved it, maybe this might help you.

I received the 30Mbps->50Mbps upgraded SMS yesterday and checked my speed. Upload was 19Mbps but download was 27Mbps. Turned off and on all my devices but still getting the same results.

I called TM customer service and they reset the port but still same results. Also was told a few other callers have the same problem. So lodge report and technicians will have to check the physical ports and such.

Today the tech guys came to my house and checked the download speed direct with LAN cable was 47Mbps+, but wifi was under 28Mbps. They tried to change some of the router settings but no difference. So they concluded my original supplied router, DLINK DIR-615 can't handle the 50Mbps speed and told me I should replace it. One option was to pay them Rm53 for service charge, get a free router with 1 year warranty but my Unifi contract must be renewed for another 2 years. I told them I'll buy my own router.

After they left, I checked my router settings and noticed that the wireless mode setting was set for only '802.11 g/b'. I changed that to '802.11 n/g/b' and the speed test now showed my download was at least 47Mbps. Problem solved.

All these while my router was only connecting with Wireless g/b, which is limited up to 54Mbps speeds. Wireless n allows for 300Mbps so that now the router can handle the upgraded speed.

I did mention to the tech guys when they told me the router is too old, that it has wireless n so should be able to handle the speed upgrade, but they seemed clueless. So for those having less than 40Mbps after your account upgrade, check that your router is set to connect with wireless n or better, and that your PC, laptops, devices have wireless n capability too.

Hope this helps. smile.gif

exactly, i know what i said. if he's not getting 50/20 on speedtest it just means he hasn't got the upgrade.

simple as that.

nope, didn't receive any message from tm, but my internet speed does increase from 2.1mbps download speed to 3.5mbps, guess that tm staff only upgrade my package to 30mbps.
