I don't work for E Tech hahah. But yes you could ask for some discount if you purchase full rig from them.

Consider getting dual channel ram? 2x8GB etc, works better than single channel ram

Meanwhile 550W is abit on the low side of power wattage, PSU calculator recommend 650W PSU with load wattage of 329W (excluding display card OC, casing fan, bling bling and optical drives)

Just doing this as a hobby hahah.

Everything looks good for your build but be aware that B360 mobos only supports up to 2666mhz ram speed. 2800mhz will still work fine but it will be capped at 2666mhz.

Not a sifu but here's my suggestion:
MOBO: ASROCK B360M Pro4
RAM: If you plan on adding a ram stick in the future, make sure to get the same same cas latency, timings and recommended voltage
Else I'd say just get a ram kit (2x8gb) for ease of use
GPU: Personally I'd go for a non-mini GPUs for better cooling but to each their own
HDD: If you have an external HDD you can still use it for storage until you get a proper internal HDD, at least for files and not OS related stuff

Everything else seems okay

I dont recommend low quality PSU for a high end card. Switch to Super Flower Leadex II Gold 550W or Corsair TX 650M at RM429

Thermaltake Litepower maybe entry level PSU but it has pass a lot of test in reviews, only thing you need to be concern is the SATA power length

but i do agree on topping up for better PSU (longer lifespan for both PSU and rig)

hmm conflicting opinion hmm.gif
Maybe I just drop the idea of getting 1070 and get a 1060 instead. Spend the extra cash on better psu + getting the hdd outright.

By the way is getting dual kit ram worth it on single monitor?

Thats up to you. RAM has nothing to do with monitor.

If you don't plan to upgrade to 1440P monitor, 1070 is overkill.

I mean Im not going to multitask/process intensive task usage only gaming+movie+browsing. Do you think I might benefit from the extra ram?

Im using 1440p monitor now. I guess 1060 ( 60fps on medium to lower) is achievable?

I went 2x8GB to be on the safe side, and allocate some ram for SSD cache to prolong SSD lifespan.

Most modern games have a minimum requirement of 8GB nowadays while 16GB seems to be the sweet spot

1070 for 1080p is no longer overkill.

Yup, games these days has minimum requirement of 8GB. 16GB gives you more headroom.

Hello guys, I am in a dilemma on choosing between the two Intel H370 boards, to pair with an Intel i5-8400 CPU:
ASUS TUF H370 PRO GAMING and Gigabyte H370 AORUS GAMING 3

Can anyone please give some recommendations or comments, especially in terms like durability, BIOS usability and features?

Thanks a lot smile.gif

Go for b350. It should be suffice for the i5

Edit: 360 lol

I am looking for an ATX form factor actually. Also seems like H370 has PCIe 4x on the M.2 slot.
If were to choose from the H370 above, which would be the better one?

Thanks smile.gif

Not necessarily higher price GPU = better performance. However, G1 Gaming does have a better cooling compared to Zotac.

Yes, locked processors means you can't OC them.

The WD Green SSD that @Helldana suggested is a 120GB SSD whereas the Samsung one I suggested is a 250GB thus the price difference.

If budget 4-5k excluding monitor, you could opt for a 1070Ti:

CPU: CORE I5 8400 (6C/6T) 692
MOBO: GIGABYTE B360M AORUS GAMING 3 337
RAM: G.SKILL RIPJAWS V SERIES (2X8GB) DDR4 2800MHZ 783
GPU: GALAX GTX 1070 TI EXOC-SNPR WHITE 8GB GDDR5 2,149
SSD: SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB 367
HDD: SEAGATE BARRACUDA 1TB 170
PSU: SUPER FLOWER LEADEX SILVER 550W 301
CASE: TECWARE NEXUS TG 139

TOTAL: RM4,938 (E Tech prices: http://www.lelong.com.my/merchant/easyit2u.htm)
*
QUOTE(TristanX @ Jun 6 2018, 11:46 AM)
Or can go for this since AMD got price drop.

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 - 848
Asrock AB350 Pro 4 (BIOS update required) - 375
Crucial 8GB DDR4-2400 X1 - 337
Zotac GTX 1070 Ti 8GB DDR5 AMP! - 2279
WD Blue 250GB M.2 - 347
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB HDD - 173
Corsair TX 650M - 429
Tecware Nexus Tempered Glass case - 179

RM4967 total (C-Zone prices)
*
OK Thank you for the suggestions !
Nowadays is 8GB RAM sufficient for my kind of usage?
