Not a good time to buy PC. There is insane price hike on the graphic card due to miners.

Hi, looking for recommendation on my secondary pc. I am currently studying oversea so this pc will be placed at my hometown and will be used only during my semester break.

B][Budget] RM2K. Might be willing to topup if it meant for better price/value

[Purpose] Hoping for only light gaming and smooth web browsing. Wont be using this pc much so i probably dont even need big storage.

[Hardwares that will be re-use] casing, mouse and keyboard

[Monitor resolution] 1080p

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Dota2( hopefully can max setting?)

[Personal preferences] none

I think you can go for pentium g4560 and use the remaining money on gtx 1060 3GB ones. Since, the performance is so close between these two cpus.

Try Gigabyte B250M-D3H at RM449 or Asrock H110M-DVS R2.0 at RM249. For PSU, its Corsair VS 450W at RM189. All Viewnet prices.

Asrock H110M-DVS R2.0 can support ssd read/write at 500mbps?
ram can run on 2400Mhz?

I'm thinking of migrating from haswell with to Broadwell, so I'm gonna re-use my GTX1060, Monitor & Keyboard+Mouse.

Could you guys suggest me a processor that would surpassed current Haswell setup?

Is it gonna be worth to upgrade from i5 4460 to i5 7500?

My budget would be RM 2k+ for CPU,MOBO, RAM (16GB), PSU (Atleast could support high-end GC) and new Casing (K7 is in my mind)

Thanks.

Need a recommendation for a 450~500w psu within rm300 that wont burn down my house from 24/7 usage with 20% overvoltage. Preferably something available online due to limited choices in east malaysia.

Haswell to Broadwell? That's 4th to 5th gen and the socket is still the same which means you don't have to swap the mobo if you go for this path, but then it is not worth to do this upgrade because the improvement is not insignificant at all, same goes to Kaby Lake (7th gen) upgrade, AMD Ryzen is a better pick if you want something that can bring major performance improvement to your rig.

Your budget is not enough to get a decent quality PSU, RM400 is the minimum recommended budget for that purpose smile.gif

Hi Guys,

Planning the below spec for my early next year purchase to avoid giving more money to gomen... appreciate any feedback & upgrade/downgrade suggestion on it.

AMD Ryzen 1600 with Wraith Cooler
Gigabyte GA AB350 GAMING 3
MSI RX 570 4GB
G.Skill D4 2400 8GB
Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
Acer KG240A 24" 144hz Freesync
Armageddon T11 ELVATRON
Fuhlen Keyboard

Things I already have:

- Armaggeddon Fuze 7.1 Headphone with Mic
- Altec Lansing 5.1 HTPC Speakers & Sub
- Logitech G502 Proteus Core
- 2 x 1 TB SATA HDD
- 1 x 2 TB SATA HDD
- DVD-Rom
- 1200VA KOSS UPS
- KOSS AVR

Recommendation required:

Cosair VS 650W <-- is this good enough or should I go for lower wattage? this one a bit expensive... RM 309

Trying to meet the Value vs Money balance.

Here is some info about me.

- I love and play old games like CSGO, The Room 1 & 2, Car games.
- Planning to do some video editing later as I already purchased my 4k action cam.
- Most of the time PC is on for Torrent Sharing (yes, I am the Share Guy) smile.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks guys.

I suggest asking again next year. Prices will be different. Maybe you might see Intel Coffeelake changes the game and bitcoin miners inflating the graphic card prices again.

Honestly I am quite set with Ryzen 1600 and have no plans to move on to Threadripper (definitely way beyond my budget even if the price dropped) and definitely not Intel, never been an intel fanboy after their 166Mhz MMX CPU.

err... something new for me... sorry I am old school abit when it come to this crypto-currency thing... all I know is that they do some kind of math calculation and get paid in bitcoin rite? but how does it effect the GPU market?

appreciate your help, thanks.

I'm looking for a mobo to support current i5 chipsets.
budget ~500 plus minus. of course value for money is the best.

Any shortlist that I could start off from?
thanks!
