Calculation and table of estimated prices can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBN. No guarantees any of the estimates will be correct as the government has been subsidizing the fuel price - even RON97! The good news is that RON95/Diesel has hit the ceiling and will continue on to be RM2.05 & RM2.15 respectively for the foreseeable future.

If calculating 10/5 to 16/5 cycle (Tuesday to Monday - weekends are using Friday prices), the actual retail price for RON95 & RON97 should be RM4.24 and RM4.54 respectively (±1 sen). For the first time ever, the petrol subsidy for RON95 is more than RM2.05 - higher than the retail price of RON95!

Thus, I estimate that RON97 would go up by 2 sen from last week at RM4.33 (±1 sen).

Note: RON95 will be capped at RM2.05/l & Diesel at RM2.15/l source

It's not even a contest! At less than half the price, just drink 95 la. Most cars even sports cars can drink 95 actually, just people saja shiok sendiri with 97! No such thing as 97 is cleaner than 95, or 95 only for NA cars. I run turbo car at 1.6 bar boost can still drink 95 with proper tuning making almost 400whp. If really die2 must drink 97, then mix 95+100 at ratio of 3:2, then you get same 97 at the price of only around rm3.2-3.3/ltr.

good to know. as one of my fren noticed slightly different performance on his 2.0 golf. says that pickup a bit slower. then it usually last for 2 weeks when full tank. with 95 he got 1 week plus only.

asked me, no different at all as i am running on pure electric since 2016.

On most normal cars, honestly not really noticeable difference. People who says can feel the difference in performance la, pick up la, FC la, are all mostly just pleacebo effect in their minds only. If high performance cars then only might feel the difference. For example on my turbo car, yes can notice the difference when running 95, 97, and 100 but on my other normal NA cars with just half or less the power, I honestly cannot tell.

think so too. the reason when 95 or 97 in the tank of myvi or iriz, doesnt make any difference except for your wallet.

since malaysian road are filled with malaysian "made" cars, think we still heavily relies on 95 but, need to control as others might took advantage also

Those truly wouldn't care actually, they just keep pumping no matter what. Got people still pumping red one too despite it already breaks rm5/ltr.

Thus, I estimate that RON97 would go up by 36 sen from last week at RM4.69 (±1 sen).

At rm4.60 per liter RON95, wonder road traffic would drop tremendously.

bizarre

it's a battle between the cleaner 97 against the famous 95

then there's this question, does 95 has long term effects on TSi engines. or the mixture is good only for N/A

for BHP, Petronas, and Petron shown their additive package are identical for 95 vs 97. So safe to say put 95 alone also ok for engine cleaning. GDI dont say cz it will had carbon deposit doesn't matter with 97 all time

My vote goes to BHP, be it Ron 95 or 97 for claiming 800 ppm German technology fuel additive.
Others maybe at 400 ppm minimum required or more IDK.

Both had similar package, quantity and quality of additives. To say put 97 will make the engine cleaner is not correct.

Yeah very possible too, bike sales will increase. Bikes may become like a swarm like in Jakarta! Sigh...
