If you are looking for a friendly seller, that will attend to your queries before you commit to purchasing, YUP... that is the person as provided in Mr.Weezy's link. Click "View Shop" in the page to see the seller's other products, and other buyers comments.

By battle tested, I meant devices that some of us in here own. Been using for long and or for various purposes. I did give some examples.

See, now you mentioned about your TV type. Unless you plan to upgrade the TV soon, pairing a Shield is definitely overkill for that TV and your needs. Cheapest I'd recommend would be the Mecool. Yup, do search for the service first. Some allow free trial and others do not cuz they are either very good or just want to run with money. Either way, know that any monies paid is considered  moneyflies.gif  moneyflies.gif .. Ain't coming back. So try to sub for a month max.. test and if okay? then extend.. Else, just forget and pay for another service. rinse repeat until you find a suitable one.

Hi sir, thanks for your reply.

I have searched some models, i.e. Mi Box S, Mecool M8s Pro L, T95Z Plus and Tx3.

These are the ones that are rm300 and below.

CPU, RAM and storage wise, M8s Pro L and T95Z are the victors.

Now I am in a dilemma on which one I should go for.. Do you have any advice?

I got my Tx3 Mini from the same seller, 3 months back.
I was a newbie to Android Boxes then, and this seller gave me the best service before any purchase. Ask any thing, and replies almost immediately. And the seller seems to work till midnight.
After sales service is even better....lol.
I was attracted to the ratings and comments from previous buyers before me, and it seems 3 months later.. .. the seller is still doing great just by looking at the feedback of recent buyers of this product and other top selling products from the seller..

MI Box S if and only if you want Netflix FHD. It's a certified box and can go up to UHD (if no issues).. But if not keen about Netflix and prefer a more functional or apps friendly box? Definitely go for the Mecool M8S Pro L or its successor the KM9. It's great to have a budget, but don't fixated too much on it. Cuz IMO, better to spend slightly more and get something that works now, all the time and is future proof. Than to buy a box just cuz it's cheapest, only to suffer AND later buy the more expensive one to get what you want done. Don't forget to set aside money to buy a separate keyboard + touch pad/airmouse combo. You'll need that for some apps that require touchscreen input. You are welcome.

Just get my TV box and now explore the limit of what my Himedia Q10 Pro can do for me.

1st Question:
I'm using Unifi Hypp TV (the original Hypp TV box). Compare to the Hypp TV box, using the Unifi PlayTV app seems get a lower / worst streaming quality. Any setting to set? Or this is the limitation of App version?

2nd Question:
AstroGo App seems easily hang in Q10 Pro?

Ques 1: Yes, this is expected as the app was made for small screens on mobile devices.. No FHD there.. The default supplied STB's app has much better resolution. No setting to set to make it better.. So the STB is recommended over the app.

Ques 2: No idea.. There are 2 versions.. 8.2.4 and 8.2.6... Switch between them to find that which may work best.

Understand Unifi no more supply the STB anymore. So are we going to get lower quality once the STB spoil?

Can it be because one using dedicated port. Besides the password is different for the app version and STB version. Not sure can it be different.

By right, as older customers, they should still be able to replace the unit if spoilt. Of course, outside warranty might have to pay some money for this. Discounted price at the least.. This is theoretical, up to TM if they want to please older customers or not. Historically? They don't care so much. Like when they offered cheaper and or faster plans for new customers but didn't automatically offer the same to existing customers.. So... whistling.gif

Yes, the password is different as both apps operate differently. One is fixed once and stored permanently (until reset) on the STB, while the other is meant for on the move and should be shared among devices.

By comparing mi box s and km9, what will I lose if I opt for mi box s? My guess is there are not much channels offered by mi box s?

Again.. You are missing the point.. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CHANNEL FILLED BOX.. Only "boxes" that can run certain apps, apps that in turn can provide your with content.. How well these perform is device, server and network strength/stability dependent. Understand this first.. This is why we ask newbies to first take their time and digest the information on page one first before anything else. When you buy a car, you don't just go.. "Hey, I want a car that can drive me from KL to Johor".. right? All road legal cars can do this, just a matter which does it best to your needs.

Planning to terminate astroo very soon and looking for better (cheaper!) alternative.

But i just read the 1st page and now i am very very confused. So im gonna go home and read it again later.

Home Internet: Unifi 30mbps. TM send email saying my plan was upgraded but i think my router need to change. Obviously im not tech savvy so im not very sure here.

TV Type: Old Samsung LED. Not smart and probably will break down anytime. Upgrading soon. What model would you guys recommend since im gonna install a box.

Take your time and read through.. Then read the last few pages.. At least 10.. Return when it makes some sense. If still too confusing, just buy previously recommended devices based on reliability and popularity.. Should work fine. As for TVs, there are threads for that. IMHO, buy a non Android TV OS powered TV and then pair it with a separate player.

I don't watch Netflix, but I believe the seller tested and sent out a Netflix version that works with the box.

It is my belief that all android boxes should be able to run Netflix @480p ( I may be wrong).

But if you are into FULL HD Netlifx, then stick with Mibox-S or Nvidia Shield as mentioned by others above this post.
