Nvidia Shield is selling in Lazada for RM1,099.
Does anyone know a better price (selling in Malaysia or KL)?

Buy direct from Amazon much cheaper

Do I need a 4K TV with HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 to view Netflix using Xiaomi Mi TV Box S?

Note: My old TV is still a HD or FHD TV.

Look like I have to invest into a Android 4K TV.

What is a good Android 4K TV (able to view Netflix) available in market?

How about Nvidia Shield? Does it need a 4K TV with HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 to view Netflix too?

If ure planning to watch only netflix, even smart tv has this app installed, and it works fine. But then u won't have the flexibility to install other android apps like android tv. Just an option since smart tv & android tv price is quite big.

You still can watch Netflix but not with 4k only since Mibox is one of the certified 4K boxes.

all the tv on the market!
basically Netflix 4k required Widevine L1 certificate,
as the reputated manufacturer... they certified all their tv...
both Android and Smart TV

Was doing good last time till issue with player hanging n lagging. Believe it due to hardware since try factory reset few time also same. That's bought Nvidia Shield with Minix Neo Lite A2 mouse still can be used.

If next year, Nvidia may launch a new version since the latest one is 2017 n before this was 2015 version.

Exactly. I will purchase a better box to go with my TV next year when I move to my own place. biggrin.gif
I guess your U1 was doing good too right? I'm still using it now. biggrin.gif

Guys, seek your advice on this matter; what's the best resolution I need to choose for a 4K TV on Mi Box S? Currently I have setup as automatic and I don't think I'm utilizing the 4K resolution with this option.

Just got a 55inch 4K TV Philips brand.

A good box may cost more but the investment is worth for it.

After using Minix box, I don't think I will go back to those rebranded boxes anymore, albeit branded and reputable boxes may be costly but the stability and apps compatibility are something which cheaper unbranded boxes can't provide.

Well, I'm not arrogant but this is my thought. You can always disagree. After all, these branded boxes really don't cost a lot like few K or something, just less than 1k or few hundreds bucks but for long term usage, I guess worth for it?

I completely agree.. Been using the Neo U1 since its release and 2 previous Minix flagship models before it (X7 & X8-H Plus).. I would have upgraded to the Neo U9-H Plus if my current TV is capable of maximizing it's advantage. But alas it's still 1080P.. So hopefully when I upgrade to a better UHD HDR TV in future, there'll be an even better Minix flagship to upgrade to. Either that or the Shield/ a worthy hardware by then.. The Neo U1 has paid for itself in performance many times over.. Paired with original Neo A2 Lite air-mouse. Absolutely no regrets. thumbup.gif

Probably better to stick with 4K res in the settings.. Cuz then the UI (if supported) & apps like Kodi with support will output at 4K res..

Yeah, I will be upgrading my U1 to something better. It's still adequate for my current usage now, checks all the boxes in my requirements list. Got it slightly more than a year ago at around RM 260, I'm glad I bought it.

Eh, that TV idea seems like a good way to achieve what I want. Kill two birds with one stone. Maybe I can take it as a reference too.

Good luck in maintaining Kodi add-ons, I gave up on Kodi more than a year ago. Frustrated because some of the add-ons will not work after some time. laugh.gif
