Using Himedia Q5 Pro for about 2 years now.

Running tight on memory and decided to clear the data in Kodi (about 2 Gb), loosing all the setup settings. (which I was aware of in removing the data).

Instead of reinstalling the same old sources (fusion etc) I used before, any new sources I should try?

Thanks.

You have the option to root and unroot, so i presumed if you opt for unroot, should be no problem with aotg

Guys, need recommendation for Android Box. Mainly use for Kodi Quasar, Netflix, Youtube and Music (Tidal and Spotify).

Currently use H96pro+ with Superceleron custom rom, but the box will not play movie smoothly when i stream Kodi quasar and sometimes will freeze and auto restart. Box also occasionally will freeze at the boot loader page and need to restart few time.

Been looking at Himedia Q10pro and Nvidia Shield. Any idea which one suitable for me? Or any other recommendation?

Your current unit plays netflix HD? Q10 Pro xnot play netflix hd as i know cos not didn't obtain master degree cert

I just realised an issue... My "settings" app crashes every time I open it. Besides hard reset the box, what else can I do? This is for my Minix U1..
*
Did you solve the problem? I think I have the same issue. I'm running Minix U1 FW on a Beelink box. It was fine for more than a year, but now I can't open the Settings app by any means - it just displays a blank grey screen for a second and then reverts back to the Minix home screen.

I booted into TWRP and wiped the cache partition but it didn't make any difference. Should I wipe Dalvik as well?

I'd rather not do a factory reset and lose all my data and settings.

I just recalled about this and tried. Nope, it is not solved. Same symptom as yours. sad.gif

Add on: I also followed voncrane's post that he also updated all Google apps. Simply went into Play Store and check out any pending for update apps, there were few Google apps pending and I updated them. Guess what? It fixed the issue now. sweat.gif

Oh, congratulations! All my Google apps are up to date anyway, so not much I can do there. I will hold on and hope that a future update restores functionality.

I suggest you clear the cache and dalvik again.. Then reboot, check Play Store is running on the latest version and for installed app updates. When done, reboot again and try accessing the Settings app again. Hopefully works .

I followed those steps exactly, but Settings still won't open. I guess I'll have to re-flash the FW. But I'll wait until I need to actually change the settings because I haven't touched them in months. Thanks for your help.

Hope someone here can recommend me an android tv box within rm250 thereabouts...

Was browsing lazada n saw a seller's comments saying distance for wifi should be less than 2m.

So im wondering if theres any android tv box with good wifi range? I live in a 2 storey terrace and the wifi router is downstairs (in a cabinet) and the tv is in a room upstairs. Although he did recommend i get a powerline...problem is i dunno my house wiring is 1 phase or 3 phase.

Main usage will be netflix and youtube. All those other channels thing would be great to have too but its secondary...

Any recommendations?

2m is bullshit...

u hv 3options
1. if ur handphone/lappie able to watch youtube/netflix in ur room, mean anybox will do
--> or use hp/lappie do a speedtest at fast.com
2. buy tv box with antenna
3. dont connect 5G wifi

Bullshit meaning its a shitty product?

1/ yeah can... currently using a ps4 connected to wifi and yOutuBe plays fine... not sure abt netflix...but i think fine too since mobile plays both fine in the room. But what abt those other streaming channels?
- whats the minimum i need for a good streaming?
2/ recommendations?
3/ old unifi router...no 5g.

Still unsure of a good product...if cab get 1 below 200 or even better below rm150 will be bettwr

No, it doesn't require VPN connection unless you want to access to certain US content like Netflix US.
