It's all about the Standard and most boxes will support it. Questions arises as to how the fetched file is processed. if you've got a UHD HDR TV, you won't go wrong with the Minix Neo U9-H, it also supports playback of HDMI™ 2.0 (4K @ 60Hz).. Get it with the Neo A3 remote as well..

im not so sure too, but it could be from the diff chipset, firmware that each box used.

so far im used minix n nvidia shield. i can see nvidia shield seem like much better quality in term of movie viewing, mostly the contrast n brightness. viewing from same TV set.

Yes, as it ships with the paid (legit, not ehem) version of AirPin Pro software that allows such feature from ios devices.. Confirmed working with ipad Air 2 running latest OS and Minix Neo U1. See no reason why the Neo U9-H and iPhones won't play nice too.. You can mirror, cast, play audio, etc.. Just don't expect to play fast games on the iPad and expect the wireless experience to keep up as the screen refreshes.

Think flight classes... Private Jet > First > Business > Economy*.. I kid... biggrin.gif

Basically, it's like TVs, not all panels are made equal. You can play the exact same HQ file on lower models vs on higher end models and surely notice a difference in pq between both. Similarly, some boxes output better pq than others. Helps the TV image..

Yup.. That's it.. laugh.gif Always choose UK whenever possible. Though in some cases, they'll deliver EU plug with or without an adapter.. Either way will work. If they didn't ship with an adapter, just buy one for super cheap.. Less hassle than to return the whole thing.

Hi Sifus, I got an old HIMEDIA Q5II which is still functioning. I would like to seek advice how can i upgrade it as it will be a bit waste to just leave it there since it is still functioning.

You could turn your mac into a PLEX server and setting your external drive as the media source. And install PLEX app into your android box. Your mac will act as a server streaming the media content through your network. The only caviat is your mac (PLEX server) will have to stay “turn on” while you stream from your android box.

I just try and it is very easier to setup.

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Aug 5 2018, 01:29 AM)
why make it so difficult,
jus enable smb/win file sharing, kodi support smb.
and it is fast!

photo music video all supported kek

Plex also support everything from Video to Photo to Music with ability to get metadata from imdb, the movies database and etc.
Some more Plex is cross platform over tvOS, Android TV OS and Panasonic fireOS.

is there a difference between buying from a kiosk shop at the shopping mall, eg Tesco Ampang vs buying from lazada.

i noticed the shop is selling the TX3 Mini at RM499 vs lazada for only RM16x. the salesman told me the following for the price difference - no shop rental cost, no services provided, the box might be recon box, warranty (though the one in the lazada i found provides the same 6 month warranty period), no services, etc

another thing i noticed the shop doesn't recommend kodi or terranium...he said need those app need to constantly 'maintain'. the app he pre-installed will always automatically find the source for me...

any comment sifus?

1. Read page one throughly to understand what you are getting into.
2. This isn't Asterruk or Unifi tv box where some service does all the maintenance and is at your beck and call. You either maintain yourself or pay someone else to do so.
3. Unless he wrote the app himself and constantly updates it. There's no such thing as infinite auto-find sources for you.
4. Read page one a second time and then the last 30 or so pages. Go back even more till it really sinks in.

Anyone here used Amazon fire tv stick or box before?
Any hoops to jump over before we can register an Amazon account and use it?
I want to recommend the stick to a friend for the sole purpose of watching Netflix in HD without getting a more expensive box. But since its been some time since I tested the original ATV, I'm not sure whether there are any issues where a VPN/ US Amazon account is required. I would rather not be in a situation to provide on-site support to my friend if I can help it :-)

I wouldn't recommend a "stick" anything for even an average media consumer.. Thing is, once your pal's tasted this world, will want more and then find out the stick is ...well.. not enough.. Better to buy something better at first and grow into it.. Then if after a long while, the fellow is no longer a noob, then can buy a more hands-on box.

For mainly Netflix + other features (should he need it) + pretty? UI + zero support? Go with the MiBox.. Should just work for simple needs..
For mainly Netflix FHD (max i believe) + much more other features + more power + minimal support? ... Get the Mecool M8S Pro L + voice remote and ideally, a solid airmouse such as the Minix A2 Lite or A3.
