Hi sifus

http://www.lazada.com.my/t95z-plus-3gb-32g...0.0.DwClG9&ff=1

is this a good buy?

my main point buying tv box is to watch live stream football(ditching astroke)

thanks! icon_question.gif

I guess it's a good buy.. Though IMO, if I'm gonna spend 400, I might as well spend the extra and get a more reputable brand. Less headaches in the future. Since your primary concern is just live TV, then device - app compatibility is more important. First you need to be certain of the source(s) and if their app will work smoothly on this device. For simple needs like yours, consider a cheaper box as you don't care about the other good stuffs.

So my friend who "took" my T95M Sunvell awhile back recently asked me to help setup FTMC again as lots of addon has become redundant especially icdrama. So I help setup everything and it's working very well.

So I decided to test mkv file movies but however there's only the picture but no sound. Other files working well. Tried playing mkv files using mx player or stock media player results in the same. FYI, this box does not have DTS Passthrough etc

What could be wrong?

Assuming that the files are okay, might be time for a factory reset.

Do you have a speaker system or the speakers are from TV itself ?

Three things to try :

1. You can try playing back the Video using Kodi or FTMC. Yes Kodi and FTMC can play local files. Disable audio pass through if necessary.

2. Or you go to MX player setting --> decoder --> SW audio ( local ). Might have audio lag.

3. Upgrade to newer version of MX player which has HW+ decoder. This is somewhat problematic in installation as there are a few things need to get them right.

Hi folks

I'm considering to get myself the "YUNDOO Y8 - 4GB RAM+32GB ROM, RK3399 Chipset" and trying to get some opinions. Made this choice after reviewing the benchmark charts.

1. Would this be a good purchase candidate?
2. There's 2 specs on offer namely the 2GB and the 4GB. Would I benefit from the additional RAM or would I not?

Or should I consider alternative boxes ?

Just my 2-cents here.

1) You may want to consider this, RK chipset is not very recommended here due to codec support. It is very poor or virtually not there.
I THINK this may have been fix in Android 7.X. but likely you wont get the same support in 8.0

2) With More RAM(3gb) is very helpful in my senario that i often switch out from kodi to open other tv app or file explorer or aotg. With more ram, i notice it does not close those app completely and it open as where left off.
Compare to my others 2gb box sometimes, it will have to restart Kodi after open too much app at sametime.
Conclusion it is not crucial for 2gb or 4gb at the moment. For cautions if 1gb, because Kodi will not run smoothly. 2gb is the minimum level.

Cheers

Am using the latest mx player, have tried those settings with same outcome

What else should I be looking for. Reset is the last option as always

Did you play the file using Kodi or Ftmc ? That's the first option and working option. Latest MX player requires you to install codec apk and so on. Because of licensing issue you have to install the codec files separately. They are not included in one click installation.

Go to page one.. Start reading from there. Come back when you've done some research. Don't want? Get the Nvidia Shield TV 2. Easy.

Btw this T95M 2gb/8gb 905 comes with Android 5 and it's quite zippy, I'm still impressed with the firmware

Not sure if it can install Krypton, think should be ok....
