I bought the Smart medic xtra and smart extender last year.

Already bought 13months. Let’s say now I go hospital, I need go pay anything? Or got Critical Illness can I claim the insurance? Or have to wait certain time only can claim? Withine 2yrs insurance company will not let you claim?

Another question is if I bought the medical card and after 6months Confirmed diagnosis Some diseases. will if affect my insurance?

My purpose for holding a Medical card is for future if have anything happen like accidents or any sick that need operation so I have a better choice instead of Gov hospital.
Just(touchwood) if anything happen like cancer or else happen now. Will my medical card that bought 1year covered?

Critical Illness normally has 120 days waiting period and even so, the insurance company has the right to investigate if they are suspicious of such claims is made recently upon taking a life insurance policy.

Basically Income Replacement is a concept where you unable to work due to any Critical Illness. This coverage can help to replace ur income since you unable to work during the CI condition.

Hi all, I've bought my insurance from an AIA agent recommended by my father 3 years ago when I first graduated from Uni. Shortly after my first policy, she kept pushing me to make further purchases, but I did not go for any (I didn't think it was needed). Thereafter, her services has gone from bad to worse. Nowadays her service and response has been really bad. I was reevaluating my policy and my texts / questions were not answered, she just asked me to check online.

Is it still possible for me to change my insurance agent at this stage without terminating my current policy? If her service is so bad now, I can't imagine how it would be later when I fall ill and need to make claims. Even my father and brother policies are managed by this agent.

Well you can't just switch agent just like that, you'll need to write in to AIA with your reasons on why you want to change your agent.

Another way would be self service if you can't rely on your current agent.

As suggested by Lifebalance, you can write in to the company to make your case.

Alternatively, you can get an agent to review your policy. If you have no intention of buying from the agent but only review you can be upfront about it and compensate him/her for her expertise and time.

What are the chances for successful agent changes?

Seems like insurance agents can just sell and walk away without any after sales service while continue to get their 6 years commission.

Hmm I can't promise you the chance of successfulness because never tried before

You can let me know the outcome if you succeed

Hmm this can happen to any insurance company and agent. End of the day you have to deal with the insurance company when it comes to claim

If there is an agent service then it's a bonus I guess nowadays. I have encounter crap agents but oh well we can't do much, it just means the agent don't look for repeat or long term business with you and just a one off. You can always engage another agent for a new policy in the future

income replacement rider (you should be referring to Great Income Rider) in the plan means if TPD, you will be paid a certain amount a year until age 70.

CI coverage (are you referring to Critical Illness Benefit Rider?) pays you the lump sum if diagnosed advanced stage CI.

not sure about AIA but for GE there is a form from the company to change servicing agent. guess you can write in the letter to change (better to have another agent's name in mind that you know and trusted) your servicing agent due to (reasons).

it depends on the company I guess. GE want is easy to change unless the existing agent write in to state the reason of not allowing policyholder to change.

Hi guys,

Before I want to sign up for insurance plan, do I need to go for a Medical Checkup?

If I'm not mistaken we need to declare our illness before we sign up.

What if I don't know that I have that illness in the first place?

whle waiting for responses from value added respondents...

some insurance plan & coverage does not need medical check ups
and
I googled and found this....

".....The insured is not allowed to conceal or hide any information from the insurer - concealment can also lead to cancellation of the contract.

For example, perhaps you didn't want to tell anyone, including your insurance company that you have contracted cancer. A few months down the road, your condition worsens, you're diagnosed with stage 4 thyroid cancer and in need of chemotherapy. Is your insurance company going to foot the bill? Forget about it!"

Depends on your age and illness.

You will be required to answer health questionnaires and answer truthfully.

In the event that you've successfully signed up for a policy but actually have an illness that you do not know about, it will still be considered a "pre-existing illness" hence won't be covered, if the insurance company can prove that you have this illness prior to signing up an insurance policy.

Hi guys, I just got my medical card application rejected due to slipped disc which happened 2.5 years back but now I am fully recovered. Does that mean that I am no longer qualified for medical card from other insurers as well?

You will have to declare whatever illness that is known to your knowledge

Whether the insurance company requires you to do a medical check up is upon request which you'll need to go to their panel clinic for an examination.

You may submit your application and wait for the underwriter's decision on your application.

Hello,

Does anyone here heard about new life insurance/hibah plan from Great Eastern? i-Gr8 Harapan from GE. Anyone has experience with Great Eastern service/claim wise? I heard some good/bad reviews regarding them so not sure it's worth it. But the plan is really affordable during the promotional period until end of October this year only.

https://www.greateasterntakaful.com/en/taka...r8-harapan.html

Please help to share your experience.

Thank you!

Each insurance company has different set of underwriting manual. You may submit your applications to other company and see if they will issue you a policy. They may impose exclusion in skipped disc or standard, depending on their decision

So, replacement rider is meant for TPD, and the sum is separate from death benefit (i.e later when i eventually die, i'd still get the full death benefit).

& CI is to accelerate the amount (so i can use it once kena CI) but it will reduce the death benefit by the same amount?

depends on whether u have any medical/hospital admission/surgery history or not. age could be a factor as well and also your BMI. and yes you need to declare whatever you know (hospital admission/surgery/medication). if you do not know what illness you have, meaning you dont have to declare unless u purposely wanna go do check up.

not necessary. you may try to apply from other insurance companies to try your luck. not guarantee of course.

yes. income replacement is meant for TPD and is separate from death benefit. (TPD payout benefit is together with the death benefit while income rider is a seperate one, not all policies have income rider do take note.)

certain product's CI rider doesn't accelerate the basic sum assured (death benefit) amount smile.gif
