Just 1 usd less for 1 000 usd. (0.1% extra)
For that rate, i will just not waste so much time looking around.

Just like I go city center looking for car park.

Some would go searching for free parking space, I would just pay rm5 per entry for the convenient and can start enjoying the shopping life

hahaa this one I agree.
invest 1k USD everymonth without fail for 30 years. that's the important part. I'll pay the fees and let someone else do the work for me while I go fishing.

It seems like Wise does successfully 'trick' people by offering better rates, but incorporates the margin into the fee layer sweat.gif

for FX, people need to understand that the simplest way of comparison is how much you received after conversion, not merely about the rate itself.

Don’t forget FSM will used that method 🤦‍♀️ to incorporate other fees which many don’t realised as well as it is still cheaper to buy in IBKR

Have you factored in the other fees 🤦‍♀️ which is stamp duty which you have to pay for no reason because there is no stamp duty buying in IBKR

yeah, i agree with you on the point that FSM still charges the stamp duty despite with its ETF RSP offering, which might make it less competitive
but let not stray from my main point.
I was just amphasizing about misleading "rate" presented by WISE, which it gives the wrong impression of offering a close-to market rate without any fee/spread.

if you have Wise, you can try it out.
You dont get to see the charging of their fee on their landing page until you log in and start converting, people tend to just use the landing page rate to compare against others players,
which is not a apple-to-apple comparison

It mislead people into thinking that WISE rate is much better but in fact the margin and spread are just being presented in another form

Hi sifus,

I have a question about the platform management fee calculation.
Based on the link, it says 0.5% per annum, charged on quarterly basis.
https://www.fsmone.com.my/managed-portfolio...et-started/fees

So for one quarter, wouldn't it be 0.5% / 4 = 0.125%?
According to the invoice, my best performance fund is AmBond.
If I have 1883 units, then how fsm come up with this number?

I have reached out fsm contact person and cleared out my misunderstanding.
It is calculated based on the portfolio value, then the management fee will be deducted from the best performing fund after converted into unit.
In a simple manner: portfolio value * 0.125%
In the correct manner: sum of (portfolio value per day * 0.5% / 365) for one quarter

You could sell it and DCA into one of those ETF in the likes of VT or VOO. Might make more money even after paying 30% WHT on dividends. Unfortunately they don't sell VWRA or CSPX.
